And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. اُس نے کہا کہ تیرا نام آگے کو یعؔقوب نہیں بلکہ اِسرؔائیل ہوگا کیونکہ تُو نے خُدا اور آدمیوں کے ساتھ زور آزمائی کی اور غالِب ہُوا ۔ And he said unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. Ayat 17:2 سورة الإسراء 17 آيَت 2 وَاٰتَيۡنَا مُوۡسَى الۡـكِتٰبَ وَ جَعَلۡنٰهُ هُدًى لِّبَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ اَلَّا تَتَّخِذُوۡا مِنۡ دُوۡنِىۡ وَكِيۡلًا ؕ‏ اور ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب عطا کی، اور اسے بنی اسرائیل کے لئے (اس حکم کے ساتھ) ہدایت قرار دیا کہ دیکھو! میرے سوا کسی اور کو کارساز نہ بنا لینا۔ 17:3 سورة الإسراء 17 آيَت 3 ذُرِّيَّةَ مَنۡ حَمَلۡنَا مَعَ نُوۡحٍ‌ؕ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَبۡدًا شَكُوۡرًا‏ (یہ بنی اسرائیل ) ان لوگوں کی اولاد تھے، جنہیں ہم نے نوح ؑکے ساتھ (کشی میں ) سوار کیا تھا۔ بے شک وہ (یعنی نوح ؑ) ایک شکر گزار بندہ تھا۔ ذُرِّيَّةَ مَنۡ حَمَلۡنَا مَعَ نُوۡحٍ‌ؕ اِنَّهٗ كَانَ عَبۡدًا شَكُوۡرًا‏ Ayat 45:16 سورة الجاثية 45 آيَت 16 وَلَقَدۡ اٰتَيۡنَا بَنِىۡۤ اِسۡرَآءِيۡلَ الۡكِتٰبَ وَالۡحُكۡمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ وَرَزَقۡنٰهُمۡ مِّنَ الطَّيِّبٰتِ وَفَضَّلۡنٰهُمۡ عَلَى الۡعٰلَمِيۡنَ‌ۚ‏ بے شک ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو کتاب، حکومت اور نبوت عطا کی۔ اور ہم نے انہیں عمدہ رزق دیا اور انہیں تمام جہانوں پر فضیلت دی۔

While yahood or hadoo are jews a total different people defined by their character. One can identify own true self and history according to the book of Allah, its government and prophethood that they (bani Israel) are never Jews but are believers among whom a great majority rejects belief and carry anger of Allah and punished through out times.

And, can you please translate this for me? kya zulkifl ka zikar quran mein mojood hai kya ye nabi bani israeel mein maboos huwe thay? Thank you so very much

The Jewish state of today which they have named Israel has nothing to do with the Children of Israel mentioned in the Book of Allah . The name Israel in the Bible was when Yaqoob ‘ fought ‘ with Allah and Yaqoob was renamed Israel ( because he fought with Allah ). The Children of Israel are the offspring of the believers from the time of Noah
