This guard not telling people to get off the reins is only encouraging people to do so and making it much harder for the other guards. This guard needs to find her voice

Even if they are not allowed to shout they can lean forward and forcefully say “ GET off my horse”. The sharpness of tone and few words should get people to back off even if not understanding English 🙄.

@@battles146the signs are only clear to people who read and speak English. Many people there can’t read or speak English. They need international signs. Ones with a circle and a line through it showing a horses reins.

last summer when they were here, few tolerated the touching of reins or even touching their mounts - makes me wonder if some of these guards are very new -

Please instruct the gunners to stop the public from touching the horses reigns. When the trouper’s take over again they will have huge problems and it’s not fair to the horses, or even the public if they think it’s okay to do so. The signs are quite clear. Let’s stop it now.

English signs. There should be more of an international type sign. Many Asians can’t read English or even speak English properly.

Das frage ich mich auch. Ich hasse diese Touristen, die sich neben das Pferd stellen und sich benehmen, als wäre es ihres. Ich möchte aber manchmal diesen Gardisten (die dagegen nichts unternehmen) einen Tritt in den Allerwertesten verpassen, warum nehmen die nicht ihren Stock aus dem Hintern und blasen diesen impertinenten Leuten den Marsch….?

They need to block off the horse and guard from the public. The can look and take pictures but not touch the horse!! This would stop the harassing of the horses.❤

I heard someone ask 4:42 "why different uniform"....because they are the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery also known as the Gunners....different uniform from Life Guards & Blues and Royals

These guardsmen are from a different branch of the military and are not use to handling the rude situations that arise. If it had been the regular Kings Guardsmen on their bay /black horses these rule breaking tourists would have been strongly dealt with.

I realize that these guardsmen are from a different branch and were only filling in temporarily. However all the military get the same field training , then they branch off into their chosen speciality . All are taught how to handle possible conflicts and rule breaking or they would not have been selected to help out.

It is always the mounted rider's fault for allowing herself to be disrespected and abused. The mounted rider should strictly claim her authority towards her horse. These tourists will abuse whenever they see a weakness of character. Sadly several will mimic this and make it a habit.

I noticed that most of these guards don’t bother doing anything. They were the same last year when they were on duty here. Mind you quite a few of the normal guards are letting the tourists do whatever they want to the horses now too.

Another guard who disrespects the uniform. These guards know that nobody is to touch or grab the reins. She is sitting there looking right at them and didn't even try to move the reins. To me thats a guard who is not cut out to be a kings hourseguard. Maybe a desk job might suite her better.

There seems to be a few idiots who are making noises to get the horse's attention. All it does is aggravate the horses. They're not actually going to get the horse to cooperate for that "perfect picture."

It isn't what those two did that was shocking because we've come to expect that from visitors. What was shocking was that the guard watched them do it and said nothing! When he walked back up there the second time, the man in the blue shirt was quite intentional and dominant about it, and boy was he so pleased with himself afterward!!!
