i used to follow dream heavily for like 3 years. its safe to say it was embarrassingly enough a big part of my life. after he face revealed and the rumors started running crazy i made a quick exit from the fandom. i have suffered all kinds of abuse like people were accusing him of, and at the time i myself was being groomed. (skill issue, i know). my point is i got so obsessed defending dream it made me physically sick. to this day his twitter community and twitter in general is a disgusting place to be. i left twitter and his fandom and never looked back. my point is, dream made a really good video defending himself. at the end of the day people just love to be haters and tear others down and youre never really gonna escape that, especially if youre dream. his career basically ended when he face revealed.

I’m highly certain dream had all that issue with his face reveal because so much of his own community literally bullied him over his face and general appearance. I don’t blame the guy in the slightest. (Likely not the ONLY reason, but I’m sure it played a big part) Also like, yeah. In the MCYT community it’s not too uncommon sadly for some of the more popular YTs to go downhill and more cringe over the years as their inital fan base grew up. I grew up on Team Crafted/SkyDoesMinecraft, and a lot of those guys either ended up being horrible people and went to jail, or decent people with cringe content. It’s not an uncommon thing to happen, but instead of just being a douchebag to those that might have gotten cringer I like to keep in mind that they’re probably just trying to stay afloat in the current algorithm. It’s so much easier to try and subject yourself to being more cringe for a younger audience than growing up with your previous one because if you rely on it for money you won’t be able to make it unless you give in to the current state of KZbin. There’s a lot of things that factor in, and adding straight up bullying on top of it makes it a million times worse. Edit; I always want to say I’m not a dream fan. Hell I used to be someone who hopped on the ‘hate dream and his SMP’ train. Out of peer pressure mostly, but I also just don’t really like his content. I agree he’s cringe a lot of things he probably shouldn’t have done but there should be no reason to continuously slander and harass someone online or in real life like this.

What I think and this is just my unprovable opinion is that he blew up to quickly. The internet seems to only respect creators who struggle for a while with no views before eventually getting big.
