I'm going to get a new Edge in 2026 it's going to be purple and black so I hope it comes out good
@carpetcop61732 жыл бұрын
Love my New Edge. Mines an 04 Red Fire GT Premium. It’s getting up there in miles, but still runs like new. No leaks of any kind, still makes good power (for a 2V), and when it’s time to change oil, it comes out almost as clean looking as it went in. These cars were new when I was in high school, and we all lusted for them. I could go buy a new GT outright, and was recently considering it, but for me, these are a special car. Even if I buy something else, I will be keeping mine. Oh... and, it’s been my daily driver for years.

Here I am, about to watch the video and see that there are 281 comments… if you know, you know… My dad bought an 03 mach1 new on a Friday the thirteenth. I have always loved the cobras from this period as well with those iron blocks built for boost... The 2v motors weren’t the most exciting cars stock and this was even before the healthy v6 motors, but I sure did like the body style. I grew to appreciate them more after the 3v came out without the side scoops from factory, always thought it set the side profile apart from other pony cars. This coming from someone who drove a ls1 z28 to high school… I remember so many roushs, and every now and then would see a saleen… seems like these cars with their incredible aftermarket set the tone for the years to come in regards to how much interest people had in modifying their street cars.. this opening up alongside the ls platform, and the then the chargers/challengers came along. I know the import scene was there as well, but I still smile when I see a clean 03/04 gunmetal gt running around town here where I’m at… knowing and remembering the transition from 200hp v6s and 320hp cobras (01’) to 300+hp base model v6s and 700hp performance models we got now… there’s for nostalgia!

Derek let me give you a piece of advice before shifting into the next gear you do not slam it into gear... When shifting a basic H pattern go into neutral before going into the next gear so you're going to start out in first stop it in neutral shift into second stop it in neutral shift into third stop it in neutral shift into fourth stop it in neutral shift in the fifth the reason for doing this is because when the clutch is depressed the transmission is still spinning... What could happen if you don't stop it in neutral before going into the next gear you can ruin the synchroads, you can completely destroy a fork, and you can start knocking teeth off gears. If any one of these three things happened you're going to need to rebuild your transmission I'm telling you this to save you some money because having a transmission rebuilt isn't cheap... So when shifting gears make sure you stop in neutral before going into the next gear... If you don't you can and will ruin your transmission... You're never supposed to go from gear to gear without stopping in neutral first... You can do what you want to do but keep in mind there's a right way and there's a wrong way to shift and what you're doing is the wrong way... I'm just bringing it to your attention you're still pretty young yet... I've been driving a stick a lot longer than you have I'm 55 years old and I still drive a stick... And what I've seen you do is go from first to second without stopping it in neutral go from second to third without stopping in neutral and so on... You shouldn't do that with any manual transmission you can't go from gear to gear without stopping it in neutral by stopping in neutral you're allowing the transmission to catch up with the next gear if you're not stopping it in neutral first you're not allowing the transmission time to catch up to slide it into the next gear clutch goes all the way to the floor shift into neutral shift into next gear release clutch

Sold my '02 2V for 4500 back in 2011 to put towards the down payment on my first home. Was a sad day, that car was my baby. Had FBO's, no long tubes but had a Bassani O/R X with 40 series Flowmaster turn downs and a 150 wet shot. I traded rear bumpers with a kid with a V6 so it looked clean AF with no tips hanging out the back. Would love when someone would roll up on me and after down shifting they were like, "oh ok, let's go!" After a hit on the purge though most said nevermind. Had a legit Roush Stage III front end from Roush after I got hit from someone not paying attention. The car is somewhere in Dallas and I've thought about buying back over the years, but then rememeber all the transimission issues I had with the 5spd. I bought a 2000 C5 a few years ago and did H/C/I, clutch, and tune, puts down over 400/400 to the wheels and pulls about 2-3 cars on the new GT350R track edition. I might buy another 01-04 some day, but might be looking for a Mach 1 or a Cobra. Nice car though man, definitely brings back some memories of the streets in Austin, Tx in my younger years. Back when Austin was really weird and cool.

When I was in high school I got a 90 gt 5.0 didn’t really have money to do what I wanted to it. Ended up selling it after a few years then got a 93 gt. Ended up selling it after a few years had 3 kids and finally got back into a mustang back in February I got an 08 gt with the 3v 4.6 since then I’ve done a ton to the car including nitrous car was running 13.8 @ 101mph when I got it, it’s now running 12.6 @ 112mph on motor and I’ve yet to get a pass on the nitrous but I’m hoping for 11.5 or better. But ended up picking up a 1 owner convertible 2v a couple weeks ago for $4k. Actually been debating on what ima do with it but I was looking at a centrifugal supercharger. So far I’ve got a cold air intake, plenum and plenum spacer 4.10 gears shift kit and an sctx4 handheld with a 93 octane tune. Oh yea and I cut the mufflers off and a coil of every spring to lower it. It’s a lot slower than my 3v but I’m digging it and drive it every day.
