I can vouch, it's an amazing chair. I got mine back in August, it's currently January the next year. Although it IS an amazing chair, comfort is incredible, etc... I recently started to experience a earthquake like sensation when sitting in it at random times. At first I thought it was an earthquake. It bounces very subtly, just at the point to really feel frustrated since I already had to justify the price when first buying it.

thank you for the review - i've been looking at this chair for 12+ months and finally going to pull the trigger. the chair is $2k retail, $1500 new (black friday sales) and $1100 open box. i really don't care about the color options. I just need something solid for my back. coming from a secret lab evo titan, which i love but need something better, this should be the perfect upgrade.

@@iiAssassinXxii ever hear "grass is always greener?" well, to start, the titan (secret labs) has better (higher) arm rests, sometimes i need to raise them, embody doesn't - i already miss that, then there's the soft pair of velour pads for my titan, which i prefer over the harder plastic ones, on the titan, i can just switch, no go on the embody - not even an option. headrest, na aaa on the embody - $300+ for an aftermarket headrest, the titan has a magnetic one. the titan evo feels like a tank compared to the embody. i will give it time, but hope i don't need to switch back.

Ugh! Secret Labs is the absolute worst! Secret Labs do not even have an actual office or warehouse in the US...they have to use a 3rd party warehouse to store/ship their stuff named Red Stag Fulfillment, which has the same equally atrocious customer service (lack thereof) that Secret Labs exhibits. I will say that the Embody is not immune to lottery, like any other chair or item, wherein they can have defects...creak, fabric issues, loose seat pan...the shroud cover over the mechanism on the bottom that has the serial number sticker on it...this can be loose and squeak horribly...for which Herman Miller claim is considered "acceptable tolerances". But, even with some of these issues...they do have at least a better customer service...and 12 year warranty...is still hard to beat...minus fighting over "acceptable tolerances".

Seems like a nice chair but I could never justify 2k for that. Would be nice to get some copycats of herman models at a very cheaper price though...

If you sit in your chair a lot, gaming/wfh, it's a bargain if we're bein real. Over the last 10ish years I've had to buy like 4 chairs averaging around $200. None of them were very comfortable past a month or two. That's almost 1k for 0 comfort. 1.7k with the 25% off for a chair that literally feels better than laying down and lasts 12 years + is a steal. Investing in your health is more important than anything. If you don't sit in your chair more than 3 hours a day then yeah prob not worth. But if you have days you gotta sit in it 8+ hours, it's invaluable.

I think it can be justified if you sit in a chair for several hours a day. Chair induced back pain can be debilitating and this chair seems to be the cure for most people. If this chair can provide me comfort and resolve my back pain issue, then it is absolutely worth it.

Squeaky noise? You mentioned that you have not noticed the noise. Others demonstrated that when you lean into the back rest and shift right or left you get a squeaky leather jacket noise from the back rest. have you noticed that? If so, is it too loud for a live podcast?

I just got one today, it's silent like he says. Not sure what's going on in those other videos... Perhaps they changed the material? Or they have fakes making videos lol

I've had this chair for 7 months now. When i first got it i was also expecting a lot of noise, as demonstrated in all the review videos I watched. However, it was silent as could be...until about a month or so in. Now its every bit as noisy as people say it is. Its not at all a deal breaker and I've also noticed the "looser" the tension on the back tilt the louder the noise is.

@@kipperrd8964 did you happen to notice any excess plastic mold in between the grooves for the back support? I had one or two "grids" that had residual see through plastic that was not removed. Wondering if that could be the culprit.. could see it being noisy if there was more of it

Had an Aeron for more than 10years but now prefer the Embody (also tried the newer Aeron, which is better than the old one).

You need to inform yourself a bit better before you make a video like this…. The regular and the gaming versions are exactly the same since they started using the extra padding in all Embody versions (more than a year ago). So no need to complain/whine about the colors, you can order one to your exact specifications if you want.
