I just wanna say that your review was the single reason I decided to keep my Embody and I thank you for that. I had the return label printed. But the way you dialed in your back made more sense. Other reviews did the opposite. They made it as forward as possible then suggested to lower it till you like it. I never really knew what I was supposed to be feeling when doing it that way. But bringing it up to my back and letting it basically hug you is when I got the true comfort I was looking for. Thank you very much.

so glad I was able to help and trust me, I did the same thing! I watched my own reviews before buying obviously and I thought the same thing at first. I'm like wtf this chair is garbage lol. But once I figured out the back, bliss! Still using it and loving it today. Except my 5 year old son always wants to steal it and make me sit in the walmart chair when we are gaming together 😂

absolutely agree with the sweet spot, and also the time it takes to find it. the first days i thought it was a waste, but now, i dont feel the chair, like i did before with other chairs. and i dont get tired in it. 10 hours sitting is absolutely no problem.

I also have a "regular" office Embody and I received my headrest last week. The initial install is a bit of a pain and the directions they provide I found rather vague, but it is a great addition once it is installed. The lack of a headrest was the only issue I had with the chair and Atlas's headrest is the perfect addition; quite comfortable and like the chair itself, allows for all kinds of minor adjustments in a large range so you can fit it perfectly to your needs.

Great editing and review! Super interested in getting this chair, but as you mentioned, it's a lot to dive head first into. Loved the video though! Very appreciative that you didn't parrot what 10 other videos said as well lol.
@Lord_zeel
@Lord_zeel 11 ай бұрын
To the last point in the video, it depends. I think everyone does need a chair that isn't going to cause posture problems, and how far (expensive) you are needing to take that depends on how long you sit in it. I think anyone doing a desk job 8+ hours a day can benefit from a high end chair. This high end? Maybe not, but as you mentioned the quality and longevity can't be undersold. There are a few things that I think one shouldn't skimp on, and ergonomics is one of them.

I have not personally used the Steelcase Gesture so I'm unable to really give you an opinion on it. What i can say is I can sit in this chair all day, day job (8 hours) plus then game for 4-6 hours in the evening sometimes with zero issues of comfortability.

What kind of noise does the chair make when you move around in it? Does it bother you a lot?
@Ed-ch4wq
@Ed-ch4wq Жыл бұрын
I have this chair and it depends on how loose you make the chair. When I make my setting tight (usually in a locked position and stiff) for work, it squeaks quite often. If you loosen the chair then the squeaking sound isn't as noticeable.

I just bought one of these for my home office and am loving it - ready to throw that box out now. I also have one at work that I just inhereted from a buddy who retired last month, and his is about 8-11 or so years old, and now that I’ve got my own brand new chair to compare it with, I can say confidently that these chairs really do last forever. The one at work that’s that old is a bit more floppy (mostly the arms, but maybe a little bit in the back) in that there’s some slop in the arms and they can wiggle a bit more than my new one does, but they do still adjust properly and they do stay where you adjust them, it’s just that they can wiggle a bit more where they’re adjusted than with my new one. But other than that, the old one at work is nearly _identical_ in terms of comfort to my new one at home - I’m not even sure I could tell the difference other than the “slop” fact in the arms and maybe a little bit more movement noise. It’s basically the same as the brand new one. Even the seat fabric is still holdingi up. You can see a bit of wear pattern in it from where my friend had been sitting in it for 8-12 hours a day 5-6 days a week for the last decade, but it still hasn’t worn through the fabric anywhere yet. The biggest place where you can see the wear is in the armrest pads - there are a couple of little divots and nicks in those where they’re missing a little padding material, but even those are small and don’t affect the comfort of the armrests at all. Pretty impressive! And it’s still under full factory warranty if anything should happen to break in the next 1-3 years (not sure what year it was actually made/sold but the 12 year warranty covers absolutely everything). Amazing chairs.

@emredaglar939 I've heard people complain about noise, but personally I haven't had this issue.
@MintyGT
@MintyGT Жыл бұрын
@@emredaglar939 It makes a little more noise than the average chair, but it's only really noticeable if you're listening for it. It's pretty rare that it catches my attention, and when it does it's only for a moment because it only really makes a noise when I'm stretching or reaching for something near the edge of my desk. It's a very minor side effect of the way the fabric and plastic are layered, combined with how flexible the back is. Normal use, just sitting at my desk working/gaming it's silent, so as long as you're not just constantly squirming in your chair while sitting at your desk(which you likely won't be with how supportive this thing is) you won't notice the noise much.

To be honest, an ergonomic chair marked as "gaming" is a bit ridicolous. "gamers" are regular computer users, with the additional need they're at home. And at home, you will be more relaxed than the average joe at the office. This chair is all about the "correct" posture and nothing about relaxing. I wouldn't buy for general usage. At home, I'm not only a computer worker but also a movie watcher. You won't find it comfortable for relaxed positions, imho.
@OMGItsDerek
@OMGItsDerek 5 ай бұрын
I get what you're saying, however, I'm sitting in the chair still today as I type this and I must said I find it quite comfortable to where I don't even need to sit in "relaxed" positions in the first place. I can sit in this chair all day long, know that it's ergonomically correct and wont' harm my posture, etc. and still find it so comfortable it doesn't bother me one bit to sit in it all day long. But I do agree calling it a "gaming" chair really doesn't mean much, but that doesn't change that it's a pretty damn comfortable chair...most comfortable chair I've ever used and I have used A LOOOOOOOOT of chairs haha!
