This resonates with me so well at this time. I was listening to another stoic message yesterday. It’s as if God brought this message to me just at the right time. Someone keeps trying to come back into my life who turned out to be a con, crook, and a very narcissistic person. The problem was they put a mask on just to get money out of me. He had our whole future planned. He made me fall in love with him. I was at a very vulnerable time in my life when he originally found me. He disappeared for a while. Now he wants back in but it’s like he’s a different person and not in a good way. I am going to practice this. It’s only been 48 hours since he’s tried to reach out again. He will never make me weak again. He knows what he did. It’s hard not to respond but this person is poison and toxic. I pray daily for Gods strength to keep this door closed and give me the strength to stay strong. It’s time for us all to take our lives back. We are all special, valued, and worthy of Gods blessings and goodness. God Bless you

Thank you for sharing your story. It takes immense strength to recognize when someone is toxic, especially when emotions are involved. Your awareness of the situation and your commitment to staying strong is truly inspiring. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. Every step you take towards reclaiming your life is a testament to your resilience and worth. Trust that God is guiding you, and continue to pray for the strength to keep that door closed. I have been listening to, taking notes and following stoicism for over a month and have experienced this. Stepping back was challenging yet the most powerful thing I’ve done for myself. Doing this showed me how I was being taken for granted yet I can’t go back because I’m much happier now.
@powerfulstoichabits4 ай бұрын
That’s a profound realization and a testament to the power of Stoic principles. Stepping back and focusing on your own well-being often reveals the true nature of relationships. By choosing to prioritize your inner peace and self-respect, you've reclaimed your power and found greater happiness. Keep walking this path-it’s clear you’re aligning more with your values and finding strength in what truly matters.

@@powerfulstoichabits Everything mentioned in this video is exactly what happened to me and I was disappointed to see this. I even questioned if they cared and why didn’t I see this before? Yet I had to accept what I was seeing and the nerve for them to question what am I doing like it’s my fault . Following stoicism has helped me tremendously, yes there’s still a lot I am working on yet what I’m seeing thus far is astounding. Listening daily is bringing about a peaceful change in me. Thank you and keep encouraging everyone to be their best self. This is life changing….something money can’t buy.

They didn't value my worth...thanks for the support of stoic knowledge... prioritizing myself to maintain my well being. Men never appreciate what they have while they still have it. Then, once you are gone because you're done being taken for granted, instead of realizing that it was their own doing and expressing their regret at not having valued you, they feel sorry for themselves. And if you take them back, they will simply fall back into the habit of taking you for granted, and you're right back where you started. Unfortunately, leaving for good is the only solution. They may one day finally get it, but it won't benefit you. You will have made them a better partner for someone else. This is the story of my life. Wash, rinse, repeat. And I remain alone.

It's natural to feel that way, but remember that in Stoicism, our focus should be on what we can control-our thoughts and actions. Allow yourself to feel, but don't let those emotions control you. Instead, redirect your energy towards your own growth and well-being. Reflect on what you value and let that guide your path forward.

Step back and create a space so they can appreciate and not take you for granted.. “ the quieter you become the more you hear”. 2- Realizations of your value, you are not just there to fill a space for them. they will miss your value of friendship. 3- The void of your presence, “ your presents brought a light warmth “. deep down they will miss you. 4- Rise of the curiosity, “ they start to be curious about you “. I'm so sorry you're going through this. It sounds incredibly painful and confusing, especially when boundaries start shifting and your feelings aren't being fully acknowledged. Remember, your worth isn't defined by someone else's actions or where their attention goes. It's important to take a step back and evaluate what you truly deserve in a relationship-honesty, respect, and mutual care. If he's pulling away and giving attention to others, it may be time to focus on yourself and your needs. You deserve someone who values you without hesitation. Stay strong, and give yourself the love and respect you're seeking. 💜

I'm truly sorry to hear about what you've been through. Facing such a serious health challenge is difficult enough without the added pain of someone you loved leaving during your time of need. It’s understandable that you feel hurt and disappointed by her actions, especially after so many years together. Remember that your worth is not determined by someone else's ability to stand by you during tough times. Focus on your healing, both physically and emotionally, and surround yourself with people who truly care and support you. You deserve to be valued and appreciated for who you are. Stay strong.

If you run into them, be cordial, don't ignore. Ignoring them is childish. Just acknowledge them and move along

Just offer to buy them coffee and have an adult and candid conversation about it.If you have nothing to hide,have a heart to heart.

If you run into them and they ask why you’re ignoring them, respond calmly and honestly. You might say something like, "I needed to focus on my own well-being and found it was best to take a step back." This keeps the conversation respectful and true to your intentions without getting drawn into unnecessary conflict or explanations.
