My school banned senior quotes bc last year some kid made his “if the red river flows, take the dirt road home” and nobody caught it until it was too late

My high school tried key word tried banning purses and other small bags because, students were caught hidding drugs and knives in them almost everyday for a solid 2 months. This lasted about 2 days before the threat of lawsuits from parents started flooding in on grounds of sexism, since this ban mostly affected the female students. Even though the rule didn't last long one of 3 things happened. A it worked like a champ at being a scare tactic, B the students got way better at hidding stuff they weren't supposed to have, or C a combination of both. The number of Incidents dropped dramatically after this.

My high school did the backpack ban my sophomore year so you were only allowed to use sinch bags that fell apart in a matter of weeks, or paid 2-3 times more for a plastic see through backpack... that fell apart in a matterof weeks. However, the girls could all bring in their purses, no matter what size. This pissed off all the guys as gender bias (with hind sight this made a lot of sense with feminine hygiene products) but then we realized that the purse exception applied to us to. I got one of my moms old lesson planning bags from back when she taught and whenever someone asked about it, even though it was actually a satchel, that was my purse. The greatest part was not only could it hold all my books and papers completely elimating the need for a locker (it was literally designed for this so it never fell apart) but i could also fit my ps3, portable screen, a couple of controllers and some games during testing season when most of our classes were just down time, and i couldnt even get in trouble for that because the only rule that applied to it was that i couldn't hook up to a tv that was school property. Even after the universally despised ban was lifted i still used my purse every day until i graduated.

Story 39 is like a revolt! What if students don't want the school lunch? I would've starved, even if I was on the plan, then told a few other students, and then parents to prove a point!

Hated story 11. Brought up bad memories. Kid went into my jacket while I was in the bathroom in 5th grade and took my Yugioh cards to play after school (last day of school). Teacher took it and wouldn’t give it back even though she saw him take it according to friends in the class. I went into her desk and took em back and she called my parents who told me next time to call them

White t-shirts got banned at my school. Some girls were wearing white t-shirts without bras underneath. Then they would somehow get soaking wet at a water fountain. The list of embarrassing things that happened at my high school is very, very long.

Bottle flipping. They became such a craze and you couldnt walk 5m without seeing someone or a gigantic group of people gathered around a bottle.People were even placing bets on it. And i tell you if you landed a trickshot, you were the coolest person in the school for the next two weeks. One kid actually broke a window and that was the last straw and it was banned

this is unrelated but i found it funny. so one day i was like 3 or 4 not even in school yet. has to be one of the first memories ive had. so we were cleaning and there was the living room and there was windows that led into a sun room, and one of the windows were open and thats where all my toys where. window was open. i spotted it. box was right in front of the window. so i hucked my thomas the tank engine as hard as i could. not only did it NOT go through the open window. it went to the farthest window closest to the wall and shattered. my mom watched and got super angry at me. lol i dont remember much after that but dear lord was it funny.

people at my school can wear shirts detailing different varieties of guns and which are the deadliest but I can't wear my five nights at freddy's springtrap t-shirt cause it has a corpse on it

The candy cane one made me laugh because my mom used to suck on the end of candy canes until they were pointy and poke people (me and my sister) with it.

At my school, they removed Google Chrome from all of the student laptops. Why? Because they wanted the teachers to use Google while us kids were stuck with Microsoft Bing, the inferior browser. Downloading Google Chrome could get you punished, although kids still did it so they blocked the page that appears when you search "chrome." Truly infuriating because Bing is a shitty browser and the laptops already had trouble with running a small Word document, so you can imagine how slow they are with Bing.

TL;DR: potatoes, because of me. so it was one of the first days of the school year for us 9th graders, most students had mixed feelings (happy to see friends, sad to be in jail again, you know how it is). but not me. I had an objective. not a good objective, but not a really evil one, no, it was in the name of CHAOS that day when I came to school very early with a backpack full of- you guessed it- potatoes! I filled the classroom with them, hiding the starchy vegetables in any place I could think of. fast forward to later that day, to the first lesson that we had in that classroom. one of the girls decided to cleanse the classroom of the potatoes (she was really freaked out by them for some reason) she was so scared in fact, that she didn't dare to touch them with her bare hands, so she took a laptop (it was a computer lab) as her weapon of choice to knock them off the high spots I hid them in. so picture this scene: a fanatic girl systematically knocking off potatoes with a laptop while the whole class is crying-laughing, and a VERY confused teacher trying to figure out what the actual fluf is going on. the whole story ends with me in the principal's office, being sent home (apparently the girl tried to flush a potato in a toilet which flooded it). yeah, so now I have to carefully conceal all of my potatoes when I'm in school.

I was the kid who put all the game on the school network drive at my school. Unreal Tournament was banned after the day so many of us were playing it that the school network was congested and the teachers couldn't use the internet. We also played a lot of Warcraft 3, StarCraft but they never got popular enough to get banned lol

Hair straightners/curling irons and blowdryers (boarding school). Some girls used them to brand themselves using one girls playboy bunny necklace. Another guy talked his friends into branding him with nazi symbols.

@@etcetera1995 it would be, except it was a military school, and we were required to have neat orderly hair. A quarter of the girls, myself included, had short hair that couldn't be tamed without a hair straightner, and I kept getting demerits for my short curly hair being none regulation. Brushing it make it worse, and hair gel couldn't contain the floof. We also lost sharpie access because one girl kept using it as eyeliner

My district high school does not allow you to carry backpacks from class to class, so if your class was on one side of the building and your locker was on the other you had to carry your stuff with you. I attend a different school that is directed toward nerodivergent people and project based learning and we are allowed to have backpacks because we don't have lockers.

My college would ban anything if something racist turned up. We lived in Kentucky, so it happened more than we would like to admit. 1) We had credit card dealers on campus until one company offered free t-shirts called “Why beer is better than a black man”. The shirt then listed several racial stereotypes. Credit card dealers were then banned from campus (that one was probably the better move). 2) Flyers were banned from campus bulletin boards when Klan flyers started popping up. This would happen right when I was trying to sell my mini fridge. 3) Comic strips were banned from the school paper after a comic depicting Asian stereotypes sparked controversy.
