When I am in Houston, Cypress Creek is my favorite place to fish. Its ultra lite fishing, but simple, low stress and fun when a fishing nerd like me needs a fishing fix. Lots of different species in that creek.

Lately the fishing has been slower with the colder weather. But I still catch something most of the time. Use small lures. My favorite are tiny spinners like your Roostertail, but smaller and small curl tail jigs. And soon the White Bass spawning run will be here and there will be lots of those in the creek. @@TheFishAndTrips

Simms Bayou below Cullen Blvd. holds some nice bass. Above Cullen Blvd to its source is shallow but really clean. Got gators too

I really enjoy your fishing expeditions whether you catch anything or not. Your fears are in the forefront and are truly hilarious, but never keep you from facing them. They are both rational and irrational 😂. Your running commentary/stream of consciousness is pure entertainment 😅. You keep putting yourself out there and it's fun to watch. Since you seem to be transitioning to freshwater this time of year, I'd like to see you visit Rivergrove park in Kingwood to fish the San Jacinto River and catch either crappie or a nice sized gar. They are plentiful there - as are catfish. (You'd have to park outside the facility unless you have a K sticker as a resident, so bring your scooter for the quarter mile trek from the entrance.) There's a nice, long bulkhead/dock and boatramp, bridge and inlet there so its civilized. You can actually see the gar cruising the bank. Just a suggestion...

I was fishing beneath a bridge, and this guy came on the bridge talking to me. Next thing I know, he's down the slope and behind me with NOT ONE dayyum fishing pole or type of fishing tackle. He said, "I just like watching." Who does that!? Gave me Jeffrey Dahmer vibes. LOL when I go to new spots, I like to scout and the scooter helps me cover a lot of ground fast vs walking with all that heavy gear. It's 10 times easier fishing bank spots with the scooter! Like, you'll never see me on foot at the Jetty again! 😂
