I thoroughly enjoy both styles of video. While the tutorials are very educational and make great references, watching a shorter video with quick edits of Matthew piecing together a jam is inspiring. It quickly sparks an interest in getting to work on some music. That can be helpful for a lot of producers out there who sometimes get stuck.

I wanna go to this party! Come play minimal techno in Melbourne Australia! I'm on the verge of just buying your template man... I've got ST and A4 going into OT. Would be amazing to have a track or two of sample playback left over on OT for vocal samples... AND still have all the awesome stuff you've got going with effects/transitions/performance. I might end up switching ST out for DT, I have both, but I struggle with all the file management of samplers.

EZBOT makes great videos. Honestly, I have learned a lot from his videos. I bought a Syntakt a year ago and then had emergency surgery. While I was recovering, watching his videos helped me learn to use my Syntakt and physically and mentally recover from the surgery.

My favorite minimal techno is Monolake. This is very complex techno, there's no recipe to achieve it.

Sounds like Minimal Techno to me. It would work well coming through big speakers in a club. I find that I need to overcome the temptation to put too much into my tracks - Elektron gear tends to invite it as well as allow it.

My experience is the opposite - working with a DT and a few other devices i often feel like I don't have enough tracks and I'm forced to paste things down.

Almost nudging into some kinda prog/psy-tech elements, though TBH, I think that's the right end of the spectrum to be on, as a lot of the really minimal techno can be a bit flat & going nowhere.

I have a MPC live 2 and sp404 mk2 and planning to add an Elektron product. Should I get a syntakt or digitakt? I know that a digitakt is a sampler and might be redundant, but I want to get your opinion on this. Thanks

I would usually say get a Digitakt but in your case I say Syntakt. I agree it would be redundant if you plan to continue using the 404 and MPC.
