As Queen Camilla has worn some famous brooches of the late QE II this week for Royal Ascot, it can be safe to assume that she had browsed the Royal Vaults quite thoroughly by now. As she is also known to be a very practical woman, it might be that she had a recent inventory on all the sparklers being carried out. Chances she might wear something new (to her) are therefore rather high. On the other hand, I can easily see her appearing in the Greville Tiara. I don't believe the Princess of Wales will be attending. It's an evening occasion and she might get tired easily at those hours of a day. Anne Princess Royal actually owns an All-Pearl-Bandeau which she has worn publicly only once. Perhaps that will be her pick for the State Banquet. Sophie Duchess of Edinburgh - hard to tell. I predict her Wedding Tiara. The Duchess of Gloucester (who will be wearing her Order of the Garter Sash for the first time here) I see in the Iveagh or Honeysuckle Tiara.

I think they're all great choices. I do wonder if the BRF might stay away from tiaras with Russian connections, for obvious political reasons, but it would be marvelous to see them. I adore the Vladamir tiara, its one of my all time favourites and I want to see it again. Sophie deserves a new tiara and with Catherine possibly not attending we need a bit of glamour from her.

The past two week have been so great for the BRF with the Princess of Wales appearance at Trooping, the BRF at Royal Ascot and Prince William with the kids at the Taylor Swift concert. If Princess Catherine does attend the state banquet for the Japanese emperor/empress’s visit, I think heads will be exploding in Montecito!

I also would love to see Empress Masako wear the Meiji tiara with the stars for the Japanese State Visit. It'd be great because we haven't seen it in quite a while. For Queen Camila, I hope she brings out the Vladimir with the pearls and for Duchess Sophie, her refurbished wedding tiara. I know a lot of people still don't like it, but I think they did a pretty good job when they updated it. The difference is very nice, and I'm sure it holds great sentimental value for her. For Princess Anne, I like the festoon tiara, and for the Duchess of Gloucester I like the Diamond Bandeau tiara with only diamonds. TBH, I don't think Princess Catherine will attend. If she does, then anything she wears would be fabulous. 😊

I love Dowager Queen (?) Margrethe's quote at the end of these videos. "We don't count the carats, we count the centuries." Seriously love it. I'd like to see Camilla bust out the Vladimir with pearls. It's such a BAM! tiara. Catherine will probably wear the Lover's Knot, it's not new but its perfect for the occasion. The Chrysanthemum tiara looks gorgeous, I'd love to see the Queen of Japan in that. Queen Mary's bandeau would look lovely on Sophie. I'd like to see it moved on from unfortunate past connections and glitter away on Sophie's head. The Windsor vaults have so much socked away, they could surprise us all. I want to see someone bold enough to break down some old stuff that's too fragile or simply never worn and fashion a new tiara or more than one person making new tiaras. All of the senior royals could take a crack at it and we'll see if anyone has Queen Mary's taste. I think we can all agree that Mary was the last innovative royal jeweler with a good eye. Have zero belief Catherine will attend. Too much prep time beforehand, too long & exhausting of an evening. She needs her rest. Honestly hope the tiara Megsy wore will NOT be offered to darling Sophie. I would not even suggest such a thing to Sophie. That particular tiara would be recognized immediately and drag the 'evil ones' name right into the mix. THAT tiara needs to be left on the church alter to drive out negative energy, then locked away in a vault for the next 100 years, not on Sophie's head! '@cassandrawright-mq5kp a few tiaras are loaned to Sophie, and tiaras are loaned for life, so no it will not be loaned to Sophie, she has not had any other tiaras loaned to her for years, but it will be loaned out to someone at some point but why bring her up, and Sophie didn't take a massive "hit for the team" by being in the same car at our late Queen's state funeral there is a hierarchy in our royal family and it was followed

HM The Queen would look best in either the Honeycomb Tiara or the Delhi Durbar Tiara. She wears the tall tiaras extremely well. If it's not too heavy, the Kokoshnik Tiara is a good option. Same with the Vladimir Tiara w/ the pearls. The Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara is a beautiful piece, but IMO it doesn't look as good on the Queen as the others I've mentioned. If she feels well enough to attend, HRH The Princess of Wales would look great in the Adelaide Tiara. It appears to be lighter than the Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara. The Strathmore Rose Tiara is another good choice. IMO The Queen Mary's Bandeau Tiara should be locked away for the next 100 years - nobody should wear it until then. It's a beautiful piece, but Rachel ruined it for everybody else as far as I'm concerned.

They know Old M would release some ridiculous puff peace saying that the Bandeau tiara was worn as a message of support towards her...or something equally nonsensical. That tiara won't see the light of day for years, especially as they have so many other beautiful pieces to chose from.

Agree with you Her Majesty wears big tiaras very well. The Girls of Great Britain and Northern Ireland tiara is beautiful, but quite delicate. The last time the Queen wore it I thought it got lost in her hair so I hope she chooses a big tiara 😅

On the other hand, maybe each of the royal women should wear Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara as much as possible in the near future, to end association with MM and show it in so many different settings that it loses its connection to her all together and gets passed around widely for all to share. I am thinking Kate won’t be ready for a state event quite yet. It takes a lot of core strength to manage in formal dress and be on consistent display. With chemo and still likely not being back from major abdominal surgery, I doubt she will be up for it yet. I was in a wedding a few months after abdominal surgery. Yeah, a very bad choice. I just wanted to die. Took me about 3 weeks to recover from that event due to exhaustion.

Goodness! Well, Camilla will most likely wear something new. Sophie, may be given something new to wear for her. However, redoing her wedding Tiara in celebration of her 25th anniversary is a great option for her. An upgrade is well within the realm of ideas! I really feel Catherine will sit this one out. She looked uncomfortable at times during Trooping The Color. A State Dinner may be too much! I wish her speedy recovery and health. I start my own treatment for cancer in two weeks. The emotions with family are brutal and never ending. I know King Charles is very sympathetic to her needs. I can't imagine him even expecting her there. You can tell he's very protective of her at the moment. ❤❤❤

I would love to see Catherine in the Kokoshnik Tiara or if that would be too heavy,maybe the Halo tiara. I don’t enjoy the Lotus tiara as much as other tiaras in the vaults. Would love to see Sophie in Queen Mary’s Bandeau tiara with the sapphire central stone,that would look stunning on Sophie. Camilla I hope goes for the Vladimir tiara with emeralds, especially after seeing her wear the emerald brooch this week at Ascot. When we were there we stayed in what was an old convent that the nazis took over as an interrogation center. You will see so many remnants of that time that still remain. You’ll love it.

The emperor is already in London. I think they arrived today. I would like to see the queen mother’s double meander tiara. I believe the last time and only time it was worn by a lady of the royal family was by princess Anne and she wore it on a state visit to Japan. That will be a good nod if either she or the duchess of Edinburg wore it, in my opinion. Maybe if the princess of Wales attended she could wear the Teck crescent tiara. I doubt Queen Camilla would ever wear it in any way.

I adore Queen Camilla in the Honeycomb and the Delhi Durbar tiaras. Of course, the Vladimir Tiara would be stunning and fitting for the occasion with the pearl option. The Duchess of Gloucester will hopefully wear the lovely Cartier Indian Tiara. Updating of Sophie's tiara in recognition of her 25th Anniversary would be lovely! However, as the new Duchess of Edinburgh', her wearing the Fife Tiara would be stunning as a nod to Scotland. Coloured gemstones were worn during the last two Japanese state visits to the UK so I hope that Queen Camila will wear whichever tiara strikes her fancy. Having said that, I strongly suspect she will wear the Pearl version of the Vladimir. I hope that the Duchess of Gloucester is present and wears her Honeysuckle tiara (and her new Garter sash!) and that Sophie wears the 5 Aquas tiara. It does make perfect sense for her to wear her wedding tiara but I doubt that it would be upgraded. It was already tweaked a few years ago to downplay its “cat ears” vibe. I think Princess Anne will wear her Festoon tiara. I would love to see Empress Masako wear the Meiji tiara.

Thank you Brittany, I personally think that the lotus flower tiara is lovely, having said that I don't think that the PoW will be exposed to a large gathering of people in close proximity at this point because of potential immune system weakness, at the Trooping the colour ceremony she was protected by being either in her family bubble or distanced in the open air. I would like to see the ruby diadem out on PC, it's a lighter tiara in effect than many that QEII had and would be perhaps suitable for the future queen to branch out into. For Queen Camilla, she may perhaps wear the Greville tiara, she seems to like it and it suits her well IMO. The empress will probably wear the meiji tiara which she seems to favour.

Watching this after the Japanese State Visit we already know that Sophie wore the beautiful Lotus Flower Tiara. However, regarding the Queen Mary's Bandeau Tiara - do you think it now has a stigma attached to it - both because it was worn by Meghan Markle in the wedding that shouldn't have happened but also comes with the story of hers and Harry's tantrums over not getting the tiara she wanted? I think so and wouldn't be surprised if that tiara goes into the vaults for at least a generation, to a time when Meghan Markle is not so fresh on people's minds.

I think with Empress Masako's fragile mental health (back when she was Princess Masako, then Empress Michiko really hated her for not bearing a son), she might appreciate Catherine Princess of Wales being there. Masako suffered a lot when she left her Law career to marry into Royalty. Masako was a New Yorker. Every Channel in NYC covered her wedding in Japan.

I very much disagree with you about terming the Japanese royal women as “Stepford wife-like”. That is, as usual, your very US-centric and limited point of view. I wish you would try your best to expand your understanding of the world and other cultures. You rather insult the Japanese with that derogatory comparison, in such a way that it embarrasses the US. A Stepford Wife is a reference to the book and film where the women were subservient programmed robots to please the men in the community. What an insult to the Japanese women. What they are showing instead is their discipline, fine attention to detail, precision and finesse. To call their society brutal is not diplomatic nor nuanced.

You did not discuss the history of the women’s medical issues nor their “mutism”, which you blame on “the brutal system” without discussing that system, either. That might be an interesting video, as long as it includes a wider perspective and not just a judgement. It’s possible to be “pretty familiar” with Japanese culture and still impose narrow American values and lenses on it. I’m afraid this is what is happening here with your “Stepford wife” reference. Do you really mean to suggest that the women in the Japanese royal family are subservient robots created for men’s pleasure? Perhaps using more nuanced, contextualized terms for what you seem to see as “brutal” conformity would be helpful. Many of the critics of the British Royal Family say the same thing about the women in the BRF; that they are creations for public view, they are robots, they have no wills of their own, they merely serve the system. That the system destroys them. And I don’t think you believe that is true. But you are willing to say the exact same thing about Japan. Most critics are from outside, without much exposure to the culture. For example, the Sussex Squad tend not to understand British traditions or values. They think Diana and Megan were destroyed by the system. It would serve them well to learn more about the culture before they label things from their own perspective.

I doubt Catherine The Princess of Wales attends the State Dinner thats seems beyond Her strength levels so early in her treatment. I would love to see a brand new tiara for Sophie The Duchess of Edinburgh especially on their 25th Wedding anniversary!! Love that Queen Camilla is dipping into the Historical Jewelery. Also there are at least three fridge Tiaras In the Royal Vaults Inc the one that HM The Used for her wedding day That's the Queen Mary Fridge...also a Necklace / Tiara.. Its worth noting...The Wedding Tiara of the Duchess of Edinburgh ( Sophie) was "Upgraded" some years ago...It was a very poor wedding Tiara for a Royal...We all agree...Sophie is just so down to earth she really wouldn't care anyway... BUT Now its quite different. So I doubt it will be upgraded again...OK

I’d love if Sophie would start wearing the Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara and make it her own. It’s so unfortunate Meghan wore it because it’s beautiful and now it’s tainted with that association. Meghan would have a hard time spinning the news that Sophie is wearing it in a “sweet nod to Meghan.” Otherwise I’m afraid we won’t see it for 100 years.

I remember when Empress Masako got married. She is a tragic modern Royal. She failed to produce a male heir for the Chrysanthemum Throne, and so when her husband The Emperor of Japan dies, his nephew will become Emperor. She became depressed and never left the Palace until 10:50 one of the Nordic/Scandinavian Royals coaxed her to attend a Royal event, (don't remember 10:50 which). King Henry VIII would've chopped off Masako's head!

Heirlooms of the crown means that they are passed on from monarch to monarch and that the reigning monarch decides who is allowed to wear them

Did you think the same about Queen Elizabeth II when she wore all the different tiaras? That she should leave some for the next queen to showcase? Queen Camilla, as wife of the reigning monarch, can wear whatever tiara she wants, although officially she has to get permission of the King. Edit: Before the Japanese State Banquet the palace briefed that the jewels that were loaned to the Duchess of Edinburgh Sophie, were loaned to her by Queen Camilla, suggesting that the new Queen (like many consorts before her) is now in charge of the jewelry collection herself.
