For me music is my main hobby and passion so I do anything I wanna (I wanna everyday and every hour), so I never have problems from the intro). By this I also mean that my way maybe isn't faster but a way more interesting ( and easier may be). I don't say that you're wrong. That's just my additions from my own experience I wanna say about just watching tutorials. For me that's the beast way to start in new genre or style (I watch some tutorials and look for things of this genre/style, learn the ways to make the sound of genre/style). That makes reference tracks analyzing a way easier cuz u already understand it from inside. I like the tricks and lifehacks from videos like this (I learned a lot about mixing from these videos). Btw I don't remember when I watched smth like this last time... I checked and it was Aug 22, 2020 (I'd say April cuz back then I just was wondered about DnB. Do I wanna do this? nope) Stop. That's damn 2 years... ho ho Now I know how music works from different sides, so I can make arrangement by myself how I wanna without any tutorials. (u'd know how I've given feedback to N8sky last time... I don't wanna say more then It was a 1 hour of arrangement things) So for me new chords and melodies every single day kinda idea from hell cuz for me every new chords and melodies is a way more then just a midi notes. That's always my emotions and ideas. Btw I have damn amount of midi piano stuff. Great way to practice (essentially If u like theory/harmony nerd like me) try to make chords progressions on the piano and melodies. That's hard but it gives you new detentions to think and create. I don't spend much time at practicing and learning new paces. I make damn a lot of variations of my fav songs (I play with AW - Faded for 3 years or more and that's still like smth new). Analyzing that's the most funny thing in music. for me most mind-blowing was album by RIOT - Dogma Resistance. This sound design, ideas, rhythms/drums that really helps the melody, this damn mellow flow of sounds and transitions... About "Ear trainers"... Yeah, I've tried some of them. Imo they help you to start to understand the basics of ear recognition (or I used some time like warm up before the mixing). I found the best Ear Train: open your project that u're mixing, choose any sound, open any fx(comp, reverb, eq(better analog ones or just one without visual feedback), etc.), slowly change any parameters form 0% to 100%, try to hear when the sounds starts to change and how. U'll notice that the same parameter starts changing a lil bit before then last time(may be 2 days ago). That means that u can hear more details and understand it better. Imo that's the best way to train your ears for mixing cuz u understand what it makes for YOUR real sound, understand what makes each knob by your own vision. So after that for me all these "Ear trainers" sounds like toys for rich ones. I think the mentors is the best way to grow fast. U'd know how damn hell much time I've spent trying to understand how to mix bass. That's only damn bass. I don't wanna say more about other layering. If some one told me these simple things... I don't have any mentors but really wanna smth like this. And for me online coerces is smth strange and useless(may be I just haven't get any good). For me that's a way more interesting and some time more helpful to watch streams of great producers. I'll never forget how much I learned by Nitti Gritti's streams. About remixing I'd say that it lets u understand the problems the artist may have so u can see the incredible solutions. And when u take part of contests especially big ones don't be lazy to at least check or even better analyze at least winner's track cuz u will differently find a lot of interesting solutions of problems that u've had while remixing. ps I think my comments so big and informative and I hope helpful. So I can start my music tips Instagram where I will post my ideas on your videos hm... interesting👀 btw I don't mid if u will use any of them) ps pt.2 I think I got a lii bit carried away😆😜

Totally agree about Soundgym. I've been practicing for a month and a half and I understand so much more than before, and my hearing is really improving =) (I'm doing a theoretical training on mixing at the same time) I've just discovered your channel, it's great! I've also listened to your productions (apparently you've done them recently, I'm really impressed) and it's very good... I can only encourage you to continue with all the passion that drives you ^-^ Really you're on the right track, congratulations. I subscribe to your channel, it's great people like you who do things with a big heart... Don't never give up on your projects, you're going to do wonders!

Learning music production by yourself is quite comfortable than with someone, you get to feel free from judgement. Comparable to learning a language or drawing on your own with the help of the internet world (peoples on the internet) It's been done by many peoples, so self taught is a way to go.
@musicbyplv2 жыл бұрын
I agree that self taught is definitely more accessible these days, but if you're not comfortable with your mentors or tutors when getting help from professional/more experienced producers, then it's because it's not the right people to teach you ;) If you find the right person, they will never judge you, we all start from somewhere :) Good luck with your learning ! 😊
