Hi Georgia. Thanks for the video. It has been very helpful for me. I'm planning on doing my transition to bioinformatics. I'm at the very beginning but after seeing your video I have a doubt. If I have Public Engagement, (extensive) Teaching Experience, and other non-technical skills from my current job but not in the bioinformatics or computational Science sector, could my CV equally stand out?

Hiya! All the features I mention here *have* to be in addition to bioinformatics core skills. You need to be able to do the coding at the minimum. But roles can be competitive so having the additional non-technical skills can give you an edge. But you must must must always be able to code and have the essential bioinformatics skills. It takes a while and a lot of personal resilience to learn the fundamentals of coding for bioinformatics and jobs won’t have the time for you to learn these on the job. Hope that makes things more clear!
