Question @ForTheCorps: For what you can remember, was there a fair amount of mid-20s age guys/gals in your platoon or for what you knew around BC? I'm a 26 year old male, finishing my contract with AmeriCorps in November 2021 and I've been wanting to join the USMC for quite sometime now but in the back of my mind, it's telling me that I'm too old. I remember in one of your videos you said that your drill instructor doesn't care how old you are. Just wanted your thoughts and thanks for the videos.

Most of these questions are questions a Marine Corps recruiter couldn't possibly answer. He couldn't possibly tell you how leave works, tuition assistance, promotions, liberty, general duties ect...a recruiter answer how to process your paperwork and what bootcamp is like. For a better idea of what your life might look like, i would talk to people who are working the job you are interested in.
@ForTheCorps
@ForTheCorps Жыл бұрын
A recruiter is only a recruiter for about 3 years… they were living the “life” of a Marine before they became a recruiter. I’d say they’re overly qualified to answer any and all of these questions.

@@ForTheCorps i have served 6 years. Been to 4 units. I've worked in the wing, base G6, battery, and infantry. None of those are even remotely the same. There are many units, commands, and jobs/billets that will make a Marine's experience very unique. Asking a recruiter about leave policy or field experience is like asking someone from the south how is life like in Montgomery Alabama.

It’s different for every branch, but usually includes push-ups, pull-ups, crunches and a mile run, sometimes more. You can find PT requirements for your branch online. If you can run a mile in under 9 minutes, do 50 pushups, and do a 3 minute plank, then you should be fine.

Why The US MARINE CORPS Rejected People Under 27 To 28 Year Old ? Like What Fuck 😢
@BlossomField91
@BlossomField91 2 ай бұрын
Because the Marine Corps likes them young. The ideal USMC enlisted recruit is someone just out of high school. The average age of a Marine is younger than any other servicemember and it's not the best branch for older recruits. 27 is a very young (wo)man in the real world, in the Marine Corps, a 27-year-old is a crusty old SNCO who already looks 40. The asshole squad leader treating you like shit is only 20 years old. I wouldn't advise anyone over about 22 to enlist in the Corps, even if they're wilfully accepted. Any of the other services are better for whatever you're looking for MOS-wise (including combat arms) and generally have more diversity in age range. You're more likely to have peers around your own age.

So far I have lost almost 50lbs since starting it. I was talking to a Marine Recruiter over text the other day, and am very interested. I started my diet at 330lbs ( yeah yeah ik, its just so hard to get rid of eating junk food. But I am doing better now ) now i am currently 285lbs. I asked what is the min/max weight for a male who is 5'5, he said if you can get down to 173lbs, you'll be good to go for boot camp. Tho I might go a little lower than that tbh. As a former Marine Corps recruiter, many of these questions would have irritated the hell out of me. Why? Because a recruiter has no clue of many of those topics as he/she is a recruiter and not a fortune teller. Each interview is a detailed sales presentation catered to the individuals expressed needs so coming in with somebody else's questions pretty much defeats the purpose. A lot of there are good follow-up questions to ask of the recruiter, but not for a first time meet and some of them will be covered in the first initial meeting without you asking.
@colzbroeffectboss4619

so I'm 16 years old and I'm a junior. I plan on joining the military my senior year after I turn 17. My questions for you is did you actually enjoy what you did in the marine corps? Also, what were some of the things you enjoyed doing while you were in the service?

I'm actually thinking about enlisting with the Navy I've been watching like a bunch of videos mostly on boot camp and what jobs I want to do which I'm not really sure what I want to do yet in there if I do decide to join but at the same time I kind of want to because there's really nothing for me to do in my hometown anymore and all I've been doing is washing dishes for 5 years and one day I just came in to my work just miserable trying to decide what I want to do with my life and in my boss talk to me and overheard me wanted to see about the military and he convinced me to at least attempted to go see what it's about and I've been kind of freaking out a little bit like what am I going to ask what am I going to do how am I going to lose all this weight and get prepared for boot camp but after watching this video I think I'm feeling a little bit confident going in there now and I'm going tomorrow actually as of me typing this so man thank you for putting this video out man for me to write down so I don't be so nervous when I go in there tomorrow thank you and Godspeed

Why The US MARKNE CORPS Have Age Limit 17 To 28 Year Old Why It Didn’t Change Like Other Branch For Example Accepting 30 Or 33 Year Old To The New 17 To 33 🇺🇸💪🏻⚓️🪖💣🧨

I joined because my uncle and my father were army veterans..and I knew a guy who was a Marine and he carried himself in a dignified manner and just had alot of courtesy, SIR, M'AAM, etc. My father always told people, "I Was In The Army " and the ol Marine always said, "I'm A Marine " and whenever he ran into another Marine they were like ol friends, like family you haven't seen in a while..and my father and uncle didn't carry on like that with other Army veterans..so I became a Marine.

I’m trying to join the Army National Guard. I’m nervous about approaching the recruiter because I likely need a couple waivers: age, discharge from prior service. I’ve run into many obstacles trying for Active Duty and was told the Guard was my best shot. Are the recruiters less willing to push you through the process if they have to apply for waivers?

I joined the Marine Corps in 1996 and then the Navy in 2002. I wish I had this information back then. I know 2 different branches. I waited 6 months to try to swear back in the Marine Corps because of 9/11. They were dragging their feet. I talked to a Navy recruiter and 13 days later I was swearing in as a sailor. I served 8 years total. Now keep this in mind. I'm part of a very small group of veterans. Since the creation of the Department of Defense from the War Department back in the 1940s there have only been about 40,000 veterans that have been in 2+ branches of military(at separate times of course)in their lives.
