WHAT TO BRING TO NAVY BOOTCAMP

Hello! In this video, I will be talking about what to bring and what not to bring to navy boot camp. I graduated from boot camp 06/18/21 and I am currently at Corry Station in Pensacola, FL. I leave in a week and I’ve been stressing so much about the PFA but reading your comments on it make me feel a lot better. Im naturally athletic and I was consistent with working out up until about 1 1/2 months ago. I swore in about a week and a half ago so im nervous with leaving so soon

Thanks! I do not know much about that rate. I haven’t met any because I have not gone to the fleet yet as I’m still in A-School. I think RS is more so like retail and LS does behind the scenes ordering and issuing materials though.

how much did you end up personally spending while you were in bootcamp? I saw on another video that they give you a card with $150 on it, but i've also seen that you should bring your debit card. did you end up having to spend more than the 150?

Yes I did. I had about $2 left on the card when I was done but when you buy divisional hoodies and shirts you spend more so maybe close to $200 in all. Bring your debit card.

Biggest tip I can give for guys is shave and make your rack during that 15 minutes, then brush your teeth after chow. It’ll make your life that much easier

One of my friends told me that there are girl there that could do your hair..Is that true. Because i was going to do a protective style but idk how long it is going to last. And my hair is too short to put in a bun.

In my division there were girls who would do hair. Technically they’re not allowed to and if you get caught with someone doing your hair you can get in trouble but depends on the RDCs and depends on if anyone snitches. I’d still do the protective style so you don’t have to worry about styling for a while

So what about razors ? Do you get those at the nex when you get there? Also how long is it until they take you to the nex some people said it’s the day you get there and others have said it’s a few days after.

That means everyone’s situation is different. I believe mine came with the cheap razors. You can buy better ones at the nex. We went to the nex prob like a week or 2 after p days

I have a question my son enlisted and picked OS, when he went to MEPS and they changed him at the last minute to PACT-S. Is this a bad thing? He was really upset about it. They told him the job wasn't open all of a sudden. He was looking forward to A-school. He is in Bootcamp now.

So pact seamen witch is what I assume is the job he got is basically we’re he goes around following other people learning how to do multiple jobs then after a year he decides witch job he wants to do.

I don’t know much about Seaman Pact but I heard they do all types of dif jobs around the ship and it tends to suck. If you want to know more about the rate I’m sure Reddit has users who have written about the experience. I don’t think he should’ve let them choose PACT for him tho.

Just don’t stop. My breathing was an issue too but determination, the PT/sustained runs will get you through

I’m 17 I can do 15 push-ups non stop I can run a mile no problem in tx heat and I ship off august 10 will I be okay?

You’ll do great. They’ll beat you enough to the point you’ll push out more push ups than you thought you could. If you can run a mile in about 7 or 8 mins then that’s good. Just gotta work on that .5

Box braids can definitely last you the whole two months. I saw a girl have box braids the whole time then turned it into a bob towards the end. Cornrows.. maybe but they’ll get old quickly.

That’s natural. But you’ll be alright. Make sure you can run and practice your push-ups and plank. Try swimming if you can.

I don’t recommend bringing a laptop. You can always have it shipped to you when you’re at A School. However, bring your phone. You need it to make your first phone call for day of arrival. After that they’ll put it in a box and store it. You won’t get it back until bootcamp is over.

There were a couple girls in my division who were not good at English but they got through. Just try hard. For the fitness part…. I say try your best. I wasn’t that physically fit either and I made it out. Bootcamp isn’t a fun place and you def didn’t want to be there past when I’m supposed to be so that was my motivation to run. The exercises, beatings, and sustained runs will prepare you. Run and don’t stop

Yes. You can’t wear them though. You’ll wear your bootcamp issued glasses. I know someone who wore their contacts anyway just don’t get caught

Yes. They give you a card that has $150. If that runs out make sure you keep your personal debit card with you. Like what John stated you will be purchasing all those things. If you stay there longer it will be more.

I never did any type of sports. I only started doing physical exercise the summer before I went to bootcamp. I thought I would it make it. I couldn’t do a push-up neither could I run the mile and a half before entering bootcamp. It was still a bit challenging but the adrenaline kicks in and when it’s time to perform you will perform if you want to get out of Boot Camp bad enough. You will be getting beats, doing sustained and PT a decent amount to help you.
