Good thoughts on training. Especially liked the mention that athletes are still training during rest after an important workout 👍 I wish I could sign up for online coaching but the $$ just isn't there. Maybe someday!

Glad you liked it! High level athletes train 168 hours per week (24x7), that's the truth. Keep in mind that I do offer questionnaire based coaching too, for $69 per month. Also, I'm working on some "off the shelf" training plans that will be available this summer.

@@LoneEndurance Cool! I've been searching for a decent couch to 5K training plan. There are tons of free plans online but none of them are worth my time lol.

Thanks for the training advice. I am training for a 100km, and rest is obviously so so important.

I saw a frutarian ultra runner champ who did everything standing - even computer work.

Building endurance I guess.

Michael Arnstein I presume? In his video from Hawaii when he's working at his standing desk, I don't believe he was in full training mode. However, if he was, I would argue that he would be even better if he sat down more. I think standing desks are great for non-athletes since it's a good way to get in more activity and less sitting, but for someone who grinds for hours every day, adding more structural stress through standing desks etc. does not make sense to me. Do you agree?

This is why when I'm able I run or workout after work, not before. I can't imagine getting a workout in and then spending all day on my feet.

Sounds like the best way to do it in your case!

I work in as much rest as I can but have kids and a job so it's tough! I'm trying to find ways to aid recovery that let me get on with my day and just got some compression socks. Do you ever use these and if so do you think they help?
@LoneEndurance3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I understand it can be a hard thing to balance for sure. Compression gear is not proven to be beneficial to performance or recovery I think, but anecdotal evidence says it might still be helpful. If you feel a positive effect from it then go for it. Still, the little recovery gadgets and therapies can only ever count for a few percent, while the BIG things are going to be sleep, rest and nutrition. So if you want to maximize your recovery while being unable to get much rest during the day etc, I would recommend focusing on always eating enough calories, getting enough carbohydrate, eating plenty of fruits and vegetables and sleeping as much as you can. Those strategies will make a big difference. :)
