Same, just hit 70lvl and there suddenly popped up 20 of background question marks that i followed for a story in all different directions, was completely lost which to follow to unlock important stuff for weeklies so i could start them first before continuing doing story/side quests occasionally

super helpful video! i was completely overwhelmed getting to level 70 just now. i was quite actively following the story and campaign and having 20 different new quest lines pop up, without any chronological order really threw me off. this helps a lot!

This is so helpful, ty! I just leveled up my first 70 (I've been slacking leveling in DF because there is sooo much to do after 70, and just have done some mundane stuff with other characters) and I was so worried what to do, after I have finish "leveling campaign." I still have half of Azure Span and whole Thaldraszus yet to be completed, and I was steering away from finishing just because I got anxious how to taggle all the end game after that and which order to do all the stuff. Same happen with me in SL, I got my first 60 little late and got overwhelmed by all the different campaign pop-ups and quests, and reputation and callings and different covenant quests, torgast and all that. I managed somehow to do something to unlock SL flying and have not done anything after that. I probably should complete SL even with one character in some point lol. Anyhow, this makes sure that my SL experience doesn't happen again. :)

Get emerald dream open and then get the quests for there and do them weekly. You will get 441 at least ilvl gear and 457 ilvl gear from world boss if you are lucky. This will get you strong and able to do other content if you choose quicker and easier. Now to be honest playing less is actually better cause if you just do 7 lfr bosses and a 4 heroics you get chances from the weekly vault for upgrades which is important to fill in the missing upgrades. So doing 7 lfr bosses and 8 heroics gets you all 6 chances and if you arena you will get 9 but 3 will be pvp items....which are only good if you only do arena. I personally do zero arena and i am a guy who has over 1 million hks. The rewards now are complete trash and you get 450 gear from doing basicly nothing.

Damn, your guide broke my game. Started on a fresh account with a boost & used the first skip option at Forbidden Reach & it makes the first mission for Embers show as never completed..

@Jweeezy Sorry to hear that! Hopefully can figure it out. When you do the first skip for Forbidden Reach, sometimes it will make you pick up the next quest from Ebyssian who is right near the location where you get ported at the skip. You have to pick up that quest and then get ported back to Valdrakken. I had one character that I had to go back to Forbidden Reach to get the quest.

@@Jweeezy I just noticed you said fresh account so this is your first character on that account I am assuming. You may have to complete a few quests in Forbidden Reach since this is not an Alt. Assume you spoke to the NPC at top of tower where Aspects are and then were ported to Forbidden Reach. Ebyssian and Emberthal are on the cliffs up and behind Morqut Village in Forbidden Reach. It might give you the skip or you may have to complete a few quests to skip the campaign.

Are the Forbidden reach, Zaralek Caverns, and Emerald dream now a part of the main campaign? As a new player, I've just reached level 70 and have finished the Forbidden reach zone and have never gotten the pop up telling me I've completed the main campaign. Did they change something?

@ezekielmigueldatuin9014 Thanks for the comment! The main campaign revolves around lighting the Dragon shrines and bringing the aspect powers back. If you look in your quest log at the top it should show what's next in the main campaign. This would include what we had on release not the patches so would not include Forbidden Reach, Zaralek, or Emerald Dream. Hope that helps. 😊

Thanks for the comment @Leon-vp3fb. No requirement to finish the campaign for PvP. You will need to to get sparks if you need to craft high level PvP specific gear.

So I boosted a 70 from buying the not yet released expansion and never played DF. Do I need to do anything different than this beginning? Or am I ahead of unlocking like forbidden reach and stuff has it already been done?

@tommybreen30 Thanks for the comment. You should have everything open related to Renown since we are in patch 10.2.7. I don’t know if it also opens all World Quests and Adventure Mode though. I know some people were having trouble getting The Last Hurrah quest in Valdrakken.

It´s incredibly complex. I see 5 different main quest scenario symbols on the map. I deleted all my quests to clear it, and now the one started shows as if I had it, but I have no quests on my log at all. What the heck happened to simplicity? They have over complicated everything so much in modern times wow..

Hey @Aphorism89. Thanks for the comment. It is a bit complicated but you are dealing with the expansion and 3 major patches so it is a lot of content near the end here. That one that is showing may be the Campaign quest. That may be what is left in your quest log.

I'm trying to get back to wow retail but this is kind of depressing. It's like a very linear ladder kind of thing where you do a grind to open up the next grind and so on. :( I want to like retail but it's weird and irritatingly hand-holdy...

I think part of that is due to coming into the expansion toward the end. We have several patches (and story lines) built up since November of 2022. WoW and MMOs in general, by their nature are a grind. :D

I fell the same, the main problem is how linear is the progression path and how quickly your progress loses value due gear treadmill. I wouldn't mind the grind if I decide to take a break from the game , and then when I comeback all my gear still worth. Wow as it's right now, in some months all gear grind will be worth nothing. I used to play this game from like 14 years, i really wanted to comeback. However I cant handle this vertically system and geartreadmill system anymore.

@@felipelucena352I've always hoped we'd see a horizontal system like Guild Wars 2 at some point. I know I can not play for months (maybe years) and still jump right back in. My gear then may not be the best, but it IS relevant and I don't feel like I'm starting all over again. With WoW, that feeling is every 3 months, or as a new raid tier starts. WoW has changed so much since I used to play (quit around MoP). The social side is severely lacking, the player attitudes have changed. nobody seems to remember what makes an MMORPG enticing for new and old players alike. I'm playing again now and I'm casual. Not out of choice either. I just find it so hard to find a guild to gel with, where before it was the norm.

Hey @ragnar1174 If this is your first character to level 70 there is a quest in your capital city. In Orgrimarr the quest is from Ebonhorn by where the portals are on the upper plateau past the flightmaster. If I remember correctly in Stormwind the quest is from Wrathion in Stormwing Keep.

I have not boosted a character yet so did not know it dropped you off at the Dragon Isles. Since it did it may have skipped the start of the campaign that I mentioned above. The Guardian quest should show up on you Dragon Isles world map I would think. You may need to go into the Emerald Dream to see it. Honestly I am not sure with a boosted character.

Agree with that for Alts 100%. But it can be beneficial as a new player or returning player to start opening these areas and renown as well. There are still things locked behind renown such as knowledge points for professions.

As a returning player (played a little in shadowlands and played for a few months in BFA) since end of Cataclysm, playing TBC and onward, DF have a lot of different mechanics from Cata and before and I went for end game content as my nr 1 focus but I did fast realize a lot of content is locked behind "old content" in the expansion and their rep/renown so doing this content is also of benefit unless you focus mainly on gear and positive thing is that this doesn't feel outdated but you get different rewards each level even if its not ilvl based :).

So many factors go into it that honestly should not be there. There is the player base thinking meta is required for anything which is not the case at all except for very high level keys. And Blizzard making affixes that exclude certain classes during certain weeks is terrible. As a BM Hunter I have definitely felt that in past seasons.

Exactly why I'm not coming back. I'm just done with the hamster wheel. If I could come back and just do raids, pvp, m+, I'd consider it. But with capped toons it's going to take a minute to get decent gear...then find some non aholes to play with, THEN maybe I get to do the fun stuff only to start all over again with another patch. While I agree it is a hamster wheel at times I think Blizzard has made a lot of changes over this expansion to make it more Alt friendly than we have ever seen. The chores part honestly does not take that long now (it is definitely not BFA/Shadowlands level). I get through everything for the week in a couple of hours and then do whatever I feel like doing the rest of the week. And we geared the video to some degree toward returning players and new players. You can just stick with M+ and raids and do just fine.
