Excellent video. It is a terrible trauma to be a crime victim, particularly a violent crime. However, given the low clearance rates for all crimes in America, there is a strong argument that reporting the crime will only on balance further traumatize the victim and it will provide no value to the victim. Let’s look at possible positive outcomes for the victim. If the crime is a violent one, nothing in even a successful prosecution and a long prison sentence for the criminal will have any impact on the victim’s injuries. They must be endured. The FBI’s annual reports on crime in America broadly show that property crimes have a clearance rate of about 16% while violent crimes are about 46%. Car theft is a good example of very low clearance rate of around 12%. From your example of the storage unit theft, it appears you were motivated by a desire to seek the criminal held responsible. And I expect that given your background, you had the emotional fortitude to endure the process of interacting with the police. I know that I don’t. I’ve thought this thru and have decided that if I am ever a crime victim, I will not report it unless forced to. When even Supreme Court Justices advise Americans to never talk to police, I am predisposed to follow that advice. As I’ve written in other posts to your videos, it is established fact that all American cops are of low moral character. Thus, it is good practice for law abiding Americans to avoid any contact with them, even when a victim. Your general advise is that suspects should not talk to police primarily because no good is likely from it. Given the likely outcome of police involvement with a victim’s crime, doesn’t the same apply?

How about this being shot and that person has been arrested. But the problem is we can not get any victims assistance because of being a convicted fellon..so nothing so now I'm not a victim because of my past. So I don't count from the state or federal assistance. So now what. I can't be a victim and be a fellon.? That seems to be.the case. No help in know way. Nothing. I live in Florida.
