I am so grateful for you guys and this channel. I've been watching you guys and contemplating moving to Washington for years now. I think you guys do amazing work for the black community that's trying to venture out and move from their hometowns and into different areas that they aren't used to. I think it's awesome that you guys not only focus on the Beauty and the attractions and the way of living in different parts of Washington, I think it's also great that you guys highlight how Others may treat us going to different places. As much as I love all races, all cultures , and all walks of life, it's still important to know how people may treat you differently when going to different places. Thank you guys so much for the work that you do!

Thanks for coming out east of the Cascades! I'm glad you all found it inviting! I love how you also noted the sister city affiliation with Michoacan. I played in the YVCC Salsa band and we were actually able to host a delegation of people from Morelia and vise versa. It was a very wholesome experience to be a part of the culture exchange and to be able to go to Mexico and play music because of the connections in Yakima, WA. It's a very unassuming place but just below the surface there's a lot of cultural history there. Being born and raised in Southern California, I wouldn't have thought a semi-rural agricultural area in Central WA would have such close ties to my own Chicano roots.

Although I love the whole Yakima valley I no longer call the US my home. My parents family farm is there and my brother will be the one to be the next generation to hold it. Although I am still welcome anytime lol. If you stop worrying about your skin color and just enjoy the place you will find it much more fulfilling. Just saying I dont think about my skin color even though I am the only one in miles. I just am.

I think this comment is unnecessary for those of us who have actually traveled and have been black while traveling it really does make a difference where we should or shouldn't go preferably to avoid unnecessary unpleasant experience.... I will tell you what, I drove the east coast in my camper van from Florida to New York for the first time and I was pulled over 17 times and not one ticket cuz I didn't do anything wrong but 17 times a cop wanted to see what I was doing... I experienced prejudice on the top of a mountain in North Carolina out of all places I thought that I wouldn't. was told that I couldn't check out at a Walmart because they were closing even though I still had plenty of time to check out with all of my groceries in my especially since it was the only store for miles.... Anyways I think what they are doing is great and I think that it's also necessary whether we want to believe that it is or not it's really happening and it's out there so it is what it is I think that they enjoyed traveling just as much as they were being informative if you don't like the channel then don't watch it. Thanks and have a great day.

Let me explain, using small words so you can understand. The name of their channel is a humorous play on words. They take the term “driving while black,” which usually refers to difficulties faced by black drivers when they interact with people who make stupid judgments based on racist stereotypes, and turn it into a lighthearted and positive term describing their travels, since they are black, and they add the unique hook of highlighting the racial diversity of their destinations. Such a sophisticated usage of language appears to be beyond your understanding or experience.
