Ugh I've always been so intrigued in the funeral business. My friends and family think I'm crazy but I love the whole aspect lol. I've Always wanted to work in a funeral home but never knew how to get started or what to do.

Vanna Beauty I think a lot of people are interested in it but there still isn't as much conversation about it! I first told my parents I wanted to be a funeral director when I was 12....talk about surprising them!

Went straight from High School into Mortuary classes, eventually got a job, but no one tells you how hard it is because the Funeral business is very tight knit and to be someone young with little exp is very very challenging. This is an industry and career that I am passionate about and plan to continue as long as I can.

Thank you so much for your tips on an interview. I am so nervous and being so meticulous rn, while trying to write the best resume possible possible. I know which job I want to apply for, so I am hoping to get an interview, and then to ace the interview. I am starting to get into my late 20's, so I definitely want to make sure I start wokring in a funeral related job, like yesterdayyyy. lol Can you do a video about what is looked for in a resume for someone applying to a funeral service job, specifically a funeral attendant assistant or embalmer's apprentice???

I worked in the business for seven years from 2005 until 2012 as a Funeral Assistant. I was a stay at home Dad from 2012 until about a year ago when divorce brought that to a big halt. Now that my kids are 10 & older and I am only a "part time Dad" it is time to go back to work. I have a THIRD interview for the same company coming up for a Funeral Arranger position. Even though I have met with both people seperately already (who will now be interviewing me together) I am still super nervous & afraid I will say and on do the wrong thing!

Hi, I know you are just now starting with your youtube channel and I honestly love your content and the videos you post. Being a modern day funeral director, I enjoy looking at others in the career and witnessing their perspective on things. Although for future reference on getting more viewers, I suggest leaving the comfort of your home and taking the camera to your funeral home our away somewhere and allowing everyone to witness things hands on. That will launch your audience off and get your more viewers for your content. Lastly, if you are able, I suggest doing give aways or something help boost the audience. Anyway, keep up the great work, looking for change though. (:

Morgan Easterly thanks for the comment and advice! I actually have a video coming up regarding the cremation process and I visited a friend of mine who works at the crematory. I completely understand trying to visit other places, it's hard at times because I want to make sure everything I'm doing is still respectful. As for giving away something, that's an awesome idea, thank you!

I took a career test and it said I should be a funeral director. I can see why because I am well spoken and compassionate. Though I worry that a lot of funeral homes might make me want to up sell and I don't think that's morally right. I think this is a good career path but I want to do it as a compassionate person rather than a salesman. Do you have any answers for me?

Most businesses that are consumer-based (as in non manufacturing or production) couldn't care less if a job candidate knows a lot about their company beforehand... the employing business's primary focus is filling a position with someone who can do the job correctly, make them money and won't be a liability or cost them money. The funeral home you worked for hired you because you're attractive and have a nice personality and also have the credentials from finishing mortuary school to boot. The fact you admit to being unqualified for the position as in little or no prior experience working in a funeral home proves that. I'm sure there were much less attractive and more qualified candidates that weren't hired for that position. So your advice and observations aren't totally credible.

Sigh... "literally mold me" human beings can't literally be molded, we aren't clay, playdough or jello. I understand what was meant, it just drives me a little nuts hearing ppl misuse the word literally. Yes, I am aware of how the newest dictionaries define literally but having a word mean its original definition and the opposite of the original definition literally makes the word literally meaningless. Literally: actually, exactly as stated, not hyperbole or exaggeration, not metaphor or analogy, not symbolic. example: "She literally went through the roof" would mean there's a hole in the roof where she went through - not she was really angry.

Lady D it’s always difficult when I make videos because I don’t write out what I’m going to say! Because of this I often mix up words and don’t have the ability to really fix it when I’m editing! But when people point things out to me I can be more conscious about it for the next time :)
@Lady8D6 жыл бұрын
Little Miss Funeral For sure! I don't make videos and, while I imagine it'd be wicked difficult, I don't actually know just how difficult it is. My point being: I've tons of respect & no judgement for those that do what I don't. But yeah, of all the words people mis-use (myself included!) none annoy me more than that one. I don't know of another word that is supposed to convey exactly the same meaning so feel it's important to let people know what it means whenever necessary. I imagine it gets annoying though sometimes, having people like me point out mistakes. Which makes me appreciate your response all the more. Subscribed and liked video, thanks for being you & doing what you do!

Lady D I thought you were very polite with your correction. If we can’t take constructive criticism we can’t grow and I’m always looking for ways to improve! Thank you for subscribing, it means a lot.

Lol.this girl is way to pretty to be doing that kind of work. She is so pretty if I was in her funeral home and decided to stick around and not go to the light wile she was messing with my body I would be stroking her hair. Lol.nither will happen. I am one of those people that just speak what's on there mind because I have a sense of humor. Lol.i will be going to the light.and will never see her .but she is pretty. And being in touch with the spirit world big time.it is a gift that God gave me. That is a nother story. But I can honestly say there will be spirits sticking around with crush s on her.but with her mind set being comfortable in that business she will just deal with it. But I bet in the future she will make a different kind of video because the dead will not leave that pretty girl alone. Lol.
