Here are some words from Jesus in scripture, "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. "As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. These things I command you, that you love one another." (John 15:7-17).

Yah is good to me; I tremble. I die daily, and it's not me but Him. Thirty minutes is a long time though. I think it's because my old man was so evil that I know sin so well and so I hate sin so much, that I can't spend more than a split second with such a sin. I'm single and when I see a good woman I instantly end up in a discussion of repentance with the Father for thirty seconds, or maybe a minute or two, before I forget it. I feel attraction, not lust, but I feel the temptation to lust and if Jesus didn't kill it a bottomless pit would form. I focus on His Truth and soon I forget the woman and my thoughts return to purity. Each time it gets a little easier and less tempting.
@nicholas33546 жыл бұрын
@PJ It's very deeply rooted so It's a long explanation. It's all Jesus. I had what I'd call a perfect conversion about twenty months ago. The influence of the world ego died to me, I instantly knew I was myself for the first time, that I would be this way forever, and this was my 33rd birthday. My ego died that day, I have no ego, and since that day I have not experienced a single temptation of anger nor jealousy. It's been over a year now since I have felt a fear. I mean, my body chemistry can still go haywire in socially drastic circumstances but I simply don't agree with my body, and I have no fear of Satan nor for my body. I gave up all worldly culture as I just think it's not good enough to value. It's also crucial that I live every moment in Shalom; the one true peace only Truth Himself can bring. The process of Christ strengthening my Shalom was very drastic so my Shalom holds up about perfectly to anything. I read Romans 7 and that allowed me to sin without doubting my perfect Spirit. Not doubting my perfection of Spirit gave me the full belief that offers the very best results. I learned to always rest in Jesus. My focus is simply rest in Jesus 100% of the time and be sure my ego is 100% dead 100% of the time. This is very natural to me, thank Jesus, and everything else is simply the result. Over time I ministered more and more often to my coworkers telling them The Gospel, Salvation, rebirth, and how awful, evil, and worthless their world and values are. Because I'm blessed with His Perfect Spirit I'm actually very much liked and loved for this. I guess I'm almost perfectly above reproach in such matters and His holy kindness always shines forth. I'm not of any Church ego or denomination or anything. I was cooking at a bar and, because its sin based income, I knew I'd have to quit someday as Hebrews 10 teaches. The revelation that Christ sets us free from fear of death let me properly read Hebrews 10. Hebrews 10;26-27 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." The adversaries being demons, sin, etc... The day came I was on KZbin ministering the Holy Spirit to a man who was an all-doctrine no-Spirit type Christian and I was suddenly filled with rightous indignation against his words. So the indignation turned against my own sin based income source and I was moved to quit my job lest I be a hypocrite. Because I love my coworkers and I thought of them as my flock, I was crying and I was like "Sin and Satan separate us and I HATE sin and I HATE Satan." Shalom, joy, hating sin, hating Satan, fullest belief, being dead to self, and resting in Jesus are the keys in my case. So I was still porn addicted despite being blessed to treat others perfectly other than looking at women and having desires. I was, however, always thinking to keep away from dominance, perversions, etc; until my flesh became curious again; but such only weakened my temptations ultimately. Best I can say is that because there is no condemnation in Christ, I have no ego, and I insist on resting in Him and letting Him do all; for these reasons I never tried to quit porn. Rather I allowed my Christian honesty to be in my lust with me, knowing I needed Christ to defeat my lust. Thus each experience I honestly deeply learned that I was less and less down with it. I'm always studying, I'm preparing to do my very best at an online ministry/teaching. I watched a couple videos from: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4DIi5aNe7N2ecU (Not this video, same channel) His videos are all perfect and Holy Spirit inspired. Thus I was moved by The Spirit and I just couldn't decide to look at porn. Now it's easier every day, like quitting drugs, so if I didnt do it yesterday I won't today nor tomorrow and so on. Quitting porn has me in a place that my thought responses keep improving; I pay attention of course. I'm tempted to sin little enough that each temptation stands out and so it's easy to pay attention to. Heterosexual lust has definitely been my most drastic addiction, given its biophysical characteristics and the fact I have a good true desire for a wife also. Now I'm in the circumstance I mentioned in my first comment.
@nicholas33546 жыл бұрын
@PJ Also what Benjamin said.
@nicholas33546 жыл бұрын
@PJ To be clear, I didn't try to quit porn because if it was done by my will I could not trust it. If I were willing against my desires then the need to change my desire would be not fulfilled (I think this is similar to casting one demon out the house and seven coming back). And I just keep my ego dead and rest in Jesus so attempting to quit sin is just not how I look at things.
@nicholas33546 жыл бұрын
@PJ This is an important key! I think that in order to share The Gospel as a reality I have to fully express that I fully believe. Therefor I must accept and express His deliverances with absolute confidence and zero compromise. Also, if I say His crucifixion has healing power but I'm not living in it then what credibility would there be? This puts me in situations where people wrongly think I'm proud and arrogant, because they think everyone acts on ego, they think I'm a myth. The irony is if I had ego I would insist on appearing humble and then I would not demonstrate full confidence. I think the social pressure to hold back our boasting in Christ is one of Satan's most effective tactics. I refuse to downplay the certainty of Christ, so I must tell people they are wrong daily. I want everyone to believe and so I deeply desire to demonstrate deliverance as perfectly as possible. Of course all this comes from Jesus, and that's why I forgot to mention it before. I also want believers to know how real and powerful His deliverances are because we can only live the gifts we can believe. All this need for confidence for others' sake has supercharged my whole journey; so all of this fully integrates into the long explanation in my first reply and vice versa.
@nicholas33546 жыл бұрын
@PJ I thank Jesus you truely believe. My heart is lighter because I know you exist. Know there is nothing holding you back; Satan is defeated. As much as you believe His deliverance you will live in it; doubt not. Mark 9, 23-24 "Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief." I suggest reading the whole passage of Mark 9, 14-29

I really admire how John Piper in front of everybody was able to share something he has personally struggled with. God bless Piper! Whatever sin in our life that causes us to stumble we must kill in such a way there is absolutely no possibility for it to come back to haunt us. The painful part in my experience is laying the building blocks to make that happen. In other words, the most painful part about killing a sin is killing anything that will in any way cause that sin to come about.

I love John Piper, his passion is so powerful. I got caught up in something he said at the beginning though. He contrasted the working out your salvation not being a threat but a gift. He said something like it's not because my life is at stake, though it is. Then he said because God is in you. So if God is truly in you how could your life be at stake? It seems like he accidentally said you can lose your salvation. Just curious
@samuelstephen27626 жыл бұрын
I had a similar thought brother! I think this question would make for a solid Ask Pastor John podcast - do I work out my salvation as if life is at stake or as if God is working in me. Maybe send them an email? The part about salvation might make a decent footnote too.
@scotttovey6 жыл бұрын
@2020 design Tutorials Your life is at stake not because you can loose your salvation, not because you could die, but because you can loose the blessings that you have in life. If he had said something sarcastically or judgmentally, he and his wife may have ended up in an argument, and perhaps his daughter crying. The peace in the home disrupted and broken. Not dealing with those personal annoying attitudes can eventually destroy a marriage and a home. In that way: your life IS at stake.

Paul states clearly in Rom 5:20, THAT THE LAW WAS GIVEN TO MAKE SIN APPEAR GREAT, BUT GRACE IS GREATER THAN SIN: νόμος δὲ παρεισῆλθεν, ἵνα πλεονάσῃ τὸ παράπτωμα· οὗ δὲ ἐπλεόνασεν ἡ ἁμαρτία, ὑπερεπερίσσευσεν ἡ χάρις· And Paul also tells in 1 Cor 10:13, THAT TEMPTATION IS LEAD BY GOD AND WITH TEMPTATION GOD IS PROVIDING AN ESCAPE or OUTCOME: πειρασμὸς ὑμᾶς οὐκ εἴληφεν εἰ μὴ ἀνθρώπινος· πιστὸς δὲ ὁ Θεός, ὃς οὐκ ἐάσει ὑμᾶς πειρασθῆναι ὑπὲρ ὃ δύνασθε, ἀλλὰ ποιήσει σὺν τῷ πειρασμῷ καὶ τὴν ἔκβασιν, τοῦ δύνασθαι ὑμᾶς ὑπενεγκεῖν. And again Paul said clearly in Col 1:13, THAT GOD RESCUED US FROM THE DOMINION OF DARKNESS AND BROUGHT US INTO THE KINGDOM (= REALM) OF HIS BELOVED SON CHRIST: ὃς ἐρρύσατο ἡμᾶς ἐκ τῆς ἐξουσίας τοῦ σκότους, καὶ μετέστησεν εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ υἱοῦ τῆς ἀγάπης αὐτοῦ. (ATTENTION - Paul uses two times an AORIST: ἐρρύσατο = HE HAS DELIVERED and μετέστησεν = HE HAS TRANSFERRED US in order to UNDERLINE THE DIVINE FACT!) Greetings from Germany & many thanks for bringing that topic up. PS: There is NO SPACE & NO TIME TOTALLY WITHOUT GOD, Psalm 139.
