I’ve only recently come to understand that the insecurities and feelings of anxiety I have struggled with over the years are as a result of pride. Lord help us to do it your way! Our flesh resists this so much but help us submit to you. To just rest in you and be thankful that you are the source of all things. We don’t need to strive, that striving is what leads to pride. Give us childlike faith Lord!

@Emmanuel Yousif Striving is the opposite of trusting. We strive because we are not willing to let God do what He is doing with us and in us what He alone knows He is doing. Striving fails or dislikes to let God determine the course of my life and takes matters into my own hands. The right thing to do is seek God and His leading in everything we wish to do. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you an understanding of what He desires for you. The Lord always answers a sincere seeker who is listening and watching for God moving in his life. You need to stay close... let the holy spirit sanctify your conscience and keep it whole. Then your hearing will be accurate. This is the man spoken about in Psalm 1. His leaf does not wither and he bears fruit in season. He acknowledges that he doesn't bear fruit in all seasons. Yet the next verse reads...all he does prospers. The thing with childlike faith is again just what we discussed willing to not use reason and logic to follow in God's plan but become simple at heart. Not being wise but foolish according to the standards of the world as in 1 Corinthians chapter 1. Grown up faith is mature faith but it is even more dependent not faith that depends on experience or achievements in the lord. The last thing we want is to be puffed up with spiritual pride which was the reason God gave Paul a thorn in his flesh. His grace is enough for every single day. He knows...but the question really is are you willing to surrender? Do you want to make it on your own or trust God your Maker to mould you according to His predestination for your life. Give all glory To God and Him alone and watch how the tide turns. Hallelujah. Amen

Summary : 1. Humility is glad that God gets the credit for choosing us so that we boast in Him and not in ourselves(it is all God's will) 2. Humility happily admits that everything we get is a free gift from God so that we may not boast 3. Humility is glad to affirm that God sovereignly governs our safe arrivals or none 4. Root of humility is the gospel(not personality trait) that Christ died for our sins and it is dependent on the gospel 5. Humility gives itself away in serving everyone rather than seeking to be served(just like how God serves us everyday) 6. Humility is glad to affirm that this service is through greatness Thank you for this sermon :)

Part of this comes from being insecure and feeling undeserving of friends or love of my parents and even the Father. Random thought: I studied art philosophy in highschool and we talked about Greek art and the building up of man. The statues of man showing their strength and armor and then rememnered there were similar statues of biblical influences such as David and others and realized human pride disguised as religion is subtle. It reminds me of preachers and songs and myself, taking a message meant to glorify God and have me front and center. If you hear alot of these "worship" songs count how many times we sing "I" or "my" it is a very self centered type of worship barely acknowledging the greatness of God or highly emphasizing our "humility". Thus is just a random observation, but I feel that we need to start being more observant of even the most subtle pride in order to get to the root problem.
@adekiseu18893 жыл бұрын
True. Most of the songs I hear around are about how "I prosper" how "my enemies would shy" How "I suffer." It's not bad per se glorifying God using "I" but many use it in a way inclined towards showing the goodness of Christians instead of the goodness of God who begot Christians. We shall improve though in God's grace. I have been prideful all my life and it mostly stems from the conditioning of the society around this topic. But like the teacher of this sermon, we who find this treasure of God's knowledge through His grace should apply His word and affect society by His grace according to His will.
@sav31383 жыл бұрын
Wow, that's so true.

Another very subtle thing is how we use the letter "I". We can not capitalize it anymore and use "i" instead. If you visualize and picture that whenever we capitalize the first letter of a title, we have it as a very important title, such as using capital first letter for God with His pronouns. We can use "i" instead of "I" and it will be a very subtle way to integrate a sense of humility in us.
@sarahprice99202 жыл бұрын
@@veray685 “I” is capitalized according to English rules. To write it small would be a grammatical error. Therefore, that would be false humility. God doesn’t call us to intentionally devaluate ourselves, instead to magnify Him.

There is only one way to put away pride. Jesus is the way. He is the Word of God. Any believer who will read some of the Holy Bible day and night daily, will be made to lie down. Humility will be forced on that believer. And there is no other way. Do not be deceived. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

Gifts and talents Humility loves and agrees that every beat of my heart is a Gift of God, and it will beat as long as He allows it to beat. All our travels and activities are up to Him Humility is being willing to forgive others and is rooted in the Forgiveness we have in Jesus Christ. It is rooted in being forgiven. Humility serves, as Christ got down low and lifted others up. Humility measures everything-not by ‘how will it stroke my ego or enhance my reputation’ but by ‘how will it serve the good of others’. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit. Humility seeks to serve and not to be served Humility loves to think about what true greatness is; and that is humility and servanthood

Law Of God The great principles of God’s law are embodied in the Ten Commandments and exemplified in the life of Christ. They express God’s love, will, and purposes concerning human conduct and relationships are binding upon all people in every age. These precepts are the basis of God’s covenant with His people and the standard in God’s judgment. Through the agency of the Holy Spirit they point out sin and awaken a sense of need for a Saviour. Salvation is all of grace and not of works, but its fruitage is obedience to the Commandments. This obedience develops Christian character and results in a sense of well-being. It is an evidence of our love for the Lord and our love for our fellow men. The obedience of faith demonstrates the power of Christ to transform lives, and therefore strengthens Christian witness. (Exo. 20:1-17; Psa. 40:7, 8; Matt. 22:36-40; Deut. 28:1-14; Matt. 5:17-20; Heb. 8:8-10; John 15:7-10; Eph. 2:8-10; 1 John 5:3; Rom. 8:3, 4; Psa. 19:7-14.) Sabbath The beneficent Creator, after the six days of Creation, rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of Creation. The fourth commandment of God’s unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another. It is a symbol of our redemption in Christ, a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God’s kingdom. The Sabbath is God’s perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people. Joyful observance of this holy time from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, is a celebration of God’s creative and redemptive acts. (Gen. 2:1-3; Exo. 20:8-11; Luke 4:16; Isa. 56:5, 6; Isa. 58:13, 14; Matt. 12:1-12; Exo. 31:13-17; Eze. 20:12, 20; Deut. 5:12-15; Heb. 4:1-11; Lev. 23:32; Mark 1:32.) KJV Romans 3 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: 30 Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. KJV John 14 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. KJV Luke 6 46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Nice! A fellow Sabbath keeper! Even though I’m a Seventh-day Adventist, I absolutely love this channel and their passion for Christ. They truly do desire God.
