Those instant sauce mixes may not be the best due to all the extra additives and sodium.

I agree and in an ideal world we wouldn't think of using such packaged products. Given my grossly inadequate cooking skills it's more a question of doing the best I can.🤕

I understand what you are going through. I am an American expat currently living in Colombia, and I am concerned about what would happen if I lose my government pension. With everything happening in my home country, nothing would surprise me.

If you are retired you shouldn't be run out of money because you should have a retirement check coming to you every month. But if you don't have a retirement check coming every month, you can't live anywhere in this world without income.

I helped my dad in the tobacco patch as a young woman. I also helped with other farm work. I never had any money until I started babysitting at 14. Your wife might have had hardships, but many American women have, too. When I was married, my American husband didn’t take care of me. I learned how to be independent, eventually leaving him to be on my own. He got out of paying child support, because he seldom worked, and jail time wasn’t effective. Interesting how “karma” works. He died almost to the day he retired the previous year. He had retired with a nice pension + a nice inheritance that he came into about 8 months before his death. God doesn’t forget how we treat others 🤔

p.s. he landed a good paying job when our son turned 18. That’s why he retired with a good pension. Clarification.

Sorry you had a tough time there. As you say many Filipinos grew up in very difficult times butt still went on to live productive lives. Our best wishes to you now.

I applied for social security three months before my 62nd birthday, with the site telling me that I would expect my first payment the month after. Well, it has been 6 months now and I still have no word, or payment. I put aside three months worth of money and my asawa has helped me stretch it. I finally got a call from Manila from Social security asking me questions that were clearly on my application, but at least I know that I am on the radar. My oldest son set up a give send go account to try to nudge us over the finish line, but it has only gathered about half of expected expenses. My weekly food bill varies between $20.00 and $40.00 but we are managing with less. Keep up the good work! Love the videos!

Just curious...and i am not looking down on you because I am also broke and grew up poor... how come you only have so little saved at 62? Divorce or something ?
@Foreigner_2024

@@newafricanforum Yes, divorce or "Something" First wife died of cancer and bankrupted me, second one just decided to divorce me and take everything. I never remarried for many years and had a small farm, but as all are, very heavily mortgaged. I am debt free. That is good enough

@@AaJim1517 Yes, and apparently I am not alone in this. We paid a Kings ransom all of our lives to earn this, and now this is what it has come to.

Been there done that my friend. Good to hear you are now debt free. Too many people especially Stateside think they are "living within their means" but the reality is far from it. Beth and I were saving up to be broke eleven years ago. We worked hard together 24/7 as a team, dreaming big but living simply. Keep on moving forward sir you will make it through to the light.

Add some ground coconut and a little cinnamon to your oatmeal. The cinnamon helps regular your blood sugar. I am 83, diabetic, live alone on Leyte.

Ha ha, I wish. We never had it that good. There is a way of working out exactly how much a channel is earning by looking at the Views. Social blade gives you the lowest to the highest number -- then you look at the views stats. We are presently being 'punished' for posting vids on unpopular subjects that go against the 'narrative' and those videos are deleted. We may live in hope that this censorship is changing according to Facebook boss.

What happened to your channel ? You used to have a lot of views has your channel been restricted and demonetized im not a hater im just curious i followed your channel going back years ago i think the channel was 1 of the biggest in regards to information about retirement in the Philippines. Im from the uk have you not thought about returning in order to get your pension sorted out i know its a long fight but they must owe you a lot of money because this has been going on a long time good luck with getting everything sorted out.

Not so. The UK have stopped my pension on other occasions but only when there is a postal delay with my life certificate. The cost of a trip back to the UK would be prohibitive. They are not handling the problem very well this time but it will be resolved in time.👍
