Waxed, here are my thoughts. A very good idea. However, I believe you are going to find that over time the rubber cement will eventually begin to discolor, breakdown and become brittle. If I were to use this method, which I believe is a good one, I'd do a little research to find an excellent archival type of adhesive rather than using rubber cement.

My concerns exactly. I really like the appearance of the sticker viewed through the jacket. It is a cool way to ensure the hype stickers don’t interact/wear against adjacent records on the shelf.

I have over a thousand hype stickers I have saved and catalogued since 1966..they are part of the beauty of collecting..some are valuable!! Love the hype stickers!!!

When I can, I carefully peel the sticker and place it back on the LP cover. When I can't peel then I do what you do.

Hi I do a similar thing but I use clear double sided tape and stick it on the back of the hype and stick it to the front of the cover very easy and effective

Very cool. I use poly-lined paper inner sleeves, peel the stickers off the album and stick them on the inner, but I like your technique better. Nice multiple camera angle production too-setting a new bar for VC vids.

I leave them on the shrink wrap, but cut them out and inside the inner sleeve.

Good idea, looks nice made me think of an entire canvas full of those stickers. You might want to use something like Mod Podge for glue, over time the Rubber Cement dries out and turns yellow.

I leave my stuff in the shrink. Problem solved. Neat trick though. I see it's purpose on a gatefold, but I'd never bust off the shrink on a non gatefold.

Hey Waxed! Without wishing to get into the whole vietnamesque rabbit hole of whether shrink should be kept on or not, if its a single sleeve why not keep the shrink on with the all important hype intact? Really don't understand the thinking of those sorry souls who take joy in ripping that sucker off! , Gatefold (not to to mention Tri-folds) create they're own 'hype dilemma' but various solution's are out there & yrs is now one of them! I like it. Two questions. 1. Can you move it after you place it with the rubber cement, is it permanent? 2. Does the rubber cement stay clear months or years after? Sometimes things like this get hazy or cloudy after time.

I only put on a little bit. I haven’t been doing it for years so I don’t know if discolors. It is not hazy.
