I live in the metro area of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and we have a Bambu here. Let me tell you, I had to restrict my Bambu purchasing to once a week, because I got addicted...QUICK!! I love that you're showcasing many of the shops and restaurants in and around Chinatown. Sadly, during this pandemic, way too many Asians were unfairly targeted and felt the heat, not just in NYC, but all over the world. I can't wait until we freely travel again, because EVERYTIME I go to Chicago, I think I spend it 90% in Chinatown! I'm just a pastie white girl from a small town in Michigan, but I absolutely love sharing Asian food and culture to my friends. I'm always having them try SOMETHING or sharing some other kind of knowledge or YT videos. Much love TJ!! 💜

Great list TJ! When Manhattan Housing Court was open, I would always grab lunch in chinatown in-between fighting evictions....Manhattan's Chinatown is one of the absolute best places in NYC to eat, its so affordable, really tasty and diverse. Some of my favorites have unfortunately closed, like the Malaysian place on Doyers with the cosy basement, but others have improved over the years like August Gathering on Canal which was my lunch spot for years and years, really good food and very nice staff. Highly recommended if you have not been.
