CHINATOWN FOOD CRAWL! Discover what to eat on a day in Chinatown from savory Malaysian food to Asian flavor cream puffs like brown sugar boba and matcha to Vietnamese sandwich to-go! Like & subscribe and catch episode 1-3!
Day in Chinatown Series continues! Every episode we feature a main course, dessert, and snacks to go because you can't leave NYC Chinatown empty handed :)!
Today's main course we head over to 00:47 Nyonya, a Malaysian restaurant. The inter marriages between the Straits Chinese and Malays offers a delicate culture of the Nyonyas (the ladies) and the Babas (the gentlemen). Nyonya cooking is a specialty derived from the recipes of one's Grandmother, and sometimes, the influence of one's Grandfather. Nyonya offers a large menu of Malaysian dishes to try! They also have lunch deals Monday-Friday from 10-4PM.
Then for dessert we grab HUGE cream puffs and baked goods from Bibble & Sip 07:47 where we grabbed items like matcha cream puff, brulee egg tart, cute macarons, strawberry crowaffle and more! Then we visit a little gem in Chinatown called Lily's Vegan Pantry 14:25 where they sell all types of Asian vegan foods and cravings! After we stopped by Saigon Vienamese Sandwich Deli 17:12 to pick up delicious and cheap banh mis to go!

The Roti Canai you had was actually a variation of roti canai, and that one is called “Roti Tisu” or ‘tissue bread’ because of how thin it is. One of my favs 😋

For the prawn noodles, try thin egg noodles and Thai style rice vermicelli (细米粉). It's popular in Malaysia. The thin noodles suck up the yummy soup.
