Hello Dr. Ekberg. I consider you a life saver. I was diagnosed with T2D on January 23rd 2022. I had an A1c of 11.7 . I immediately began searching g for answers and found your channel. I had already been doing HIIT training, but i added your nutrition idea’s and Intermittent Fasting to my routine. I was able to get off taking insulin after 2 weeks and stopped metformin after 1 month. I just got my new A1C results on April 22nd and I now have an A1C of 5.1 Thank you again for all your work!

I am 73 years of àge and stumbled upon your videos by chance. I weighed 98 kgs two months ago, ì was prescribed aspirin, atorvastatin, metformin, glicizide and many more drugs for high blood pressure, heart palpitations, obesity, diabetes 2, high cholesterol and anxiety. I could hardly walk my feet were swollen and sore. Today, i am 78 kg heading to 58 kg and better than i have ever felt in my life. I started 12 hour IF and now do 22 IF with a two hour feeding window. I am no longer hungry i could fast forever lol. my blood pressure is now normal, my diabetes stabilized, no sugar spikes, i am carb orientated, i am eating foods in such a way that now balances out my two hour feeding window ensuring that what goes in my tummy is user friendly. I feel lighter and healthier on the inside, full of energy and i can walk forever. My list is endless and everything on it is good.and it is thanks to you and your videos of inspiration and encouragement that have led me toward the healing of my body, my spirit and my emotional and mental well-being. My goals are fixed on the future and i am so proud of where i am going and the health benefits i have achieved. No more meds for this girl. Thank you doctor for how you have transformed my life. I am indeed a health champion.

@@Jimmy911ism I diminished the amount of carbs and sugar and increased the intake of meat, fish and vegetables and I reduced the number of meals a day and my blood tests came back incredible. Edit: Just to clarify, I tried this even though I am not overweight or trying to lose weight and I already did the Mediterranean diet which is definitely not bad so the fact I was able to further improve my blood results with adjustments inspired on keto to my diet really says something.

I have listened to Dr. Ekburg for the past four months and I can’t say anything but thank you. I have completely emptied my refrigerator and all of my cabinets of all the foods that are proven to be dangerous that even our government will not tell you that they are. I started slowly with intermittent fasting and now I am finishing my first seven-day fast. I have gained back the discipline that I used to have years ago when I was in the Marine Corps. And in four months time I have lost 45 pounds and have not felt this good in years. The simple knowledge of how Food Works has done miracles for my health.

I am so grateful for your educational videos. I am 74 and I started OMAD cold turkey. I am on day 7 and feel amazing. I have no cravings or feel hungry. The reason for this decision was to stop sugar addiction, inflammation, memory issues as well as bone degeneration. I have little trust in the doctors who rarely suggest diet changes but readily prescribe medication. I have not taken any pharmaceuticals for several years not and do what I can to educate myself about my bodily functions. Your videos were by far the best and most precise information I came across. I do have questions about supplements and I am sure you have it somewhere in your video library. Gratitude for making this accessible for everyone without promoting products. Thank you

The thing I love most about OMAD is that it has opened my eyes to what an amazing piece of machinery that the human body is. My 🧠 and my body are finally communicating in ways that I didn't even know was possible. I almost never get "hungry" and if I do it's so mild that sometimes I almost miss it. I don't even consider it hunger it's more like, "oh my body getting ready to start cannibalizing, cool", and I just keep going about my day. I don't really consider it hunger anymore, it doesn't bother me, it doesn't make me panicked and run for a protein shake like it used to, it's just another signal that my body is sending me that my brain is now able to correctly processes now that I've cut out the drugs(processed food) and sugar. The way it feels different when you're running on fat vs sugar. The calmness that comes from it, that feeling like you never want to eat again because you feel so good 😊. 0-24 hours I feel fine but there's something about that 36-40 mark where I go from feeling "fine" to feeling REALLY GOOD. I think it's because I don't do keto so I switch between fat and sugar a lot. Sorry for rambling but I don't have anyone to talk to about this because they all think I'm crazy, or exaggerating how it feels, the control, the closeness to the natural state, the way it was supposed to be, the idea that food is simply the way we get energy into our bodies. They all just nod their heads and humor me but nobody really cares 😂. I tell em it'll be life altering but they don't believe me. I tell em it's not about will power, they definitely don't believe me 😂. THANK YOU DR. EKBERG AND ALL OF YOU OUT THERE WHO TAKE THE TIME TO MAKE THESE VIDEOS. YOU ARE CHANGING LIVES.

I agree Calvin, it is hard to share this knowledge with people who are still addicted to gluten, sugar, etc. I was one of those addicts (and like everyone else didn't know it) until two years ago. Fasting is great. I feel that switching from fat to sugar burning is ok...and some types of carbs sometimes are fine; as I think of the ancient people and how they will have had inconsistent food sources (ie fasted, sometimes for long periods) and then feasted sometimes on lots of carbs, such as fruits, to put on some timber (fat) for the coming winter! I understand where you are coming from and suspect there are absolutely loads of us out there now...but it is hard when your family and friends are not amongst them! Sigh. Maybe one day!

People won’t change until they suffer. Let them suffer with chronic diseases in the first place. Worse, even after they got the disease they still do not want to change. They are pleasure addicts. They need the “feel good” drug every minute through consumption of refined carbs. You can’t help them.

A variation on fajitas- I made a breakfast fajita bowl recently. Chopped some bacon and fried it up. Without draining the grease, I added some leftover steak, peppers (both sweet and spicy), and onions. When that was done, I removed it from the pan but left some of the bacon grease. I fried eggs to put on top of the fajita mixture. Lastly, I added avocado. Super yummy.

Fun tip for your suggestion at 6:16- take 2-3 whole eggs, and your favourite leafy green. Pinch of salt and pepper, blend it all together. You can tweak this recipe but basically use a bit of oil and pan fry a thin layer. Flip and brown on the other side. Take off the pan and you’ve got keto tortilla wraps

I just tried your fun tip and it was great! I used 2 eggs with a handful of chard leaves blended with an immersion blender. It made a large "tortilla" that I let cool first before filling and wrapping (pastrami, cheese and lettuce). It was pliable, easy to roll and it was delicious. It stuck to the pan a little, but I was very careful to loosen the entire bottom with a long spatula before trying to flip it. I think I'm going to buy a new nonstick skillet and dedicate it to wrap-making so that no one messes up the nonstick surface. Thanks for the tip!

Aracelis Pirela, please look into this tea for reducing any risk of recurring. Floressence Tea removes heavy metals and pesticides gently over 3 to 4 months or 4 to 6 boxes. Follow directions, but it works cold or hot. Floride in water wrecks it 40% and water in plastic wrecks it 60%. I brought glass jars to a water store until I lived with a well. People doing 3 months yearly don't seem to have the cancer return. It has ended cancer on thousands of stage 4 people. One was my friend. Her oncologist had forbid her to use it. But she had already seen improvements in health , so used it and he was shocked when she did not die but recovered (after 4 months of use) because he swore at her about the tea she refused to tell him how she got well. It reverses insomnia at 2 weeks on everyone, that is when they look like T-cells begin to be made correctly. Side effect: ending of anxiety and depression. If you took a covi1.9 shot you are at risk from the king c o b r a and the c r a t e. Sn- ake ven.oms in it. Ive-rm-ect-in and others destroy it. The tea may also.

I see very little results but I know my poor sleep habits have a lot to do with this. I’m a night nurse and I find it so difficult to sleep, once the kids are at school. I take naps for about 2 hrs at a time and then it’s back to the routine of pick up, homework, dinner and then back to work. My total sleep in a 24 hr period is about 5-6 hrs. I’m a former college athlete, so to have more than 40-50 lbs on my body is emotionally heartbreaking and physically exhausting. On my 2 days off, I try to sleep about 6 -7 hrs straight, most times I’ll get 5. Will OMAD, over time help? I now have HTN as well. No other health concerns. I absolutely love the information you provide and the clear and concise manner of your presentations. Thank you! Many blessings to you and yours.

I also have a hard time getting in hours of sleep because of following news long after midnight. Try to commit to a set "sleep" time. Have a cup of tea with a non-additive sleep aid such as "Calm" that has magnesium and herbs an hour before sleep. Still can't sleep? Try doing some stretching. Dr. Ekberg has a video on breathing exercises which he says works over time.

I was waiting for the chaffles or portobello mushroom caps pizza. I take a large mushroom cap and spread the gills with coconut oil, then sprinkle with herbs de provence and bake until almost done, then top with mozzarella and broil enough to melt the cheese. Other times after seasoning with the oil and herbs, I fill the cap with raw ground beef and bake until the mushroom starts to look softer, then top with the mozzarella and broil briefly. Yummo!

You are a great teacher. I make a cauliflower pizza crust with one head of cauliflower that is centrifugally juiced. I drink the juice, too. The cauliflower fiber is mixed with 4 eggs and 16 oz of low moisture mozzarella cheese in the mixer. The "dough" is spread evenly over a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, cooked at 425 F for about 15-20 minutes. The trick is to minimize the moisture. I use tomato paste (not sauce) for the base of the pizza topping.

Afer suffereing with hypoglycemia for years, I'm no where near ready for OMAD, however I am gradually expanding my fasting window and feeling so much better. I'm learning so much from your channel and appreciate the way you explain things. btw - if you want to try that cauliflower pizza crust again... line a collendar with a thin towel before putting in cooked cauliflower, let cool enough to handle, then make sure you squeeze out all the water! Then proceed with adding spices, cheese, etc. before baking on parchment paper. I even flip mine over to brown both sides before topping and baking again.

Great timing with this awesome video! I’ve been intermittent fasting for five months now working my way to 20/4. This week I am going to start attempting OMAD. My husband and I discovered a great recipe on KZbin called keto fat head dough. It makes a wonderful pizza crust. The ingredients are just almond flour, an egg, baking powder, and mozzarella cheese. We use tomato paste as our sauce, then all our toppings and more cheese. It’s so delicious. I have never felt better than I have since intermittent fasting. I have had some weight loss and absolutely no cravings. Thank you Dr. Ekberg you have changed my life🥰

I've been on my Keto journey for nearly a year now. I've used prolonged fasting alongside OMAD and OMEOD, having found that the other fasting regimens just were not working for me, even OMAD, I'm finding either weight is stable or actually gaining a bit. Thus OMEOD for a week then a prolonged (2-7 days) fast. It's reassuring that playing with fasting periods, as well as varying them is actually beneficial to the body not developing a memory to a routine. I'm 63M, 195cm, I started at 132kg, got down to 104kg, before putting a few kg on over Christmas. I'm trying to get to about 90kg, so I can maintain at 90-95kg. Thank you for the simple, non jargonistic explanations and very interesting presentations.

This video was very informative and helpful to me. I am 41 and I never had any health problems but in the last 3-4 years I put on 25kgs. Although my diet has been fairly healthy, I couldn't control my hunger - something I had never experienced before. My blood tests confirmed that insulin was the problem, so I stopped consuming carbs and sugar (except carbs naturally found in seafood, meat, and green vegetables), and my blood sugar stabilized within two days. That's all it took for me to start feeling GREAT - two days! So now I only eat veggies, meat, cheese, seafood, nuts - basically all the nutritious and filling foods, and I feel great. My only problem is that I love coffee and prefer to have it with oat milk, which isn't the best low-carb option. Since I don't like soy milk, I use oat milk instead. Occasionally, for lack of a better term, I get a "craving" for some fruit, so I have strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries. However, the sugar levels spike up even after eating those, so I tend to avoid them whenever possible. Although I don't have a medical background, I appreciate your ability to explain complicated topics in a manner that we can all understand. So THANK YOU so much for all the work that you do for this community. It is truly appreciated! 🙏🏻

This is wonderful, and kind of funny. Years ago I started making some gluten-free dishes, including "guacamole salad" and "hamburger salad," which were essentially all the good stuff, made into a salad, and without bread. And now here you have a hamburger salad! I love it. When I first went gluten-free, I tried to substitute things for bread, and eventually I just gave up and created a whole new menu for myself. Thank you for your channel and all your wonderful, funny, and very helpful videos, Dr. Ekberg. edit: after you make your hamburger, use a little water, and a tiny pinch of onion powder, to de-glaze the skillet. The fond on the skillet makes the best sauce I've ever tasted. Make your hamburger salad, and then add this sauce to everything, and you'll be in heaven.

Dr., I did Keto Intermittent fasting (18-6 minimum, many 19-5s and 20-4s) for 6 weeks and just finished three days ago. I lost 16 pounds (I'm 5'8" and 75years old) going from 235 to 219, but I reduced my first AM blood sugar reading by 80 to 100 points!!! (From 200s and 220s at the beginning to 120s and 140s readings despite the Dawn Effect!) For the rest of the day, pre- and post prandial readings I reduced 60 to 80 points!!! I am soooooo convinced this works! During those six weeks, I was NOT hungry, but in the 4 to 5 days that I did OMAD it was hard after about 20 hours! IT WORKS!!!!

Not "too skinny" to do this every day by any means, but I have to triple what I was eating to make this work long term! Thank you so much, Dr. Ekberg! Dear Doc, you just answered all my questions, thank you. I am skinny but trying to enter autophagy which i did a few times last and this week. I lost 9 pounds in some 10 days, sitting at 57.5kg. I am 172 cm tall and fairly healthy appart from my gut inflammation which is why i am doing my fast. I just finished my 24 hr fast and tried to get enough callories in for my dinner as i cannot aford to go any lower on my weight. I will do what you had suggested from now on, thank you. My mum however, is the exact opposite. Had her A1C sugar levels checked recently and she is bang on 6.5. No medication as yet. She has been doing a 16 hr fast for at least 10 years. She lost some weight inicially about 40 pounds in total and now sits on about 94kgs. After watching several programs on this i came to the conclusion that a 16hr-fast may not be enough for her. My mum being very stubborn just did a 40hr water fast and has lost 4 pounds which is purely water. I have encouraged her to repeat this however with caution and gradually. She doesnt consume much sugar or callories per day but has sourdough bread for breakfast with ham and a bowl of salad /tomato, radishes/leek/carrots, and similar seasoned with salt, pepper, olive oil and vinegar. Then small lunch when she ate and then a coffee at 3pm then nothing till next day. I am determined to get her bring her sugar levels down to a healthy number no matter what! Thank you for your video!!!! Stay well. Lucie

These meal tips are very good for me as I am just trying to get my head around my direction for Keto and to lose weight (35kg of 112kg target 76kg) and control a little my glucose and insulin resistance. It seems at the moment I am eating too little, less than 750 calories a day to get myself started, although I am not hungry now, but I am heading towards OMAD and eating more whilst keeping my carbs below 76g with a target of 5% of the calories. This was very helpful as it seems I have currently pushed down my metabolic rate (only lost 4kg in 2 months), I am 70 years old and need to speed it up by increasing my exercise too. Funnily, for years now I just eat when I’m hungry and not otherwise. My weight never changes and I’m never left hungry usually. It often means I eat 1 meal per day, sometimes nothing for a day or two, and sometimes I indulge in lots if I’m feeling a little more hungry or greedy. Never eat breakfast as I just can’t stomach food first thing, and instead I tend to have food around 11am, often 2pm, or it may even get to dinner time around 5pm before I eat something. My mum always worries of it and says oooh you should eat 😅 but all I’m doing is listening to my body, and I feel great and healthy. It’s not psychological, it’s healthy and intuitive. Sometimes, around every full or new moon, I purposefully fast for a few days before until sunrise day after, to keep me in sync with the seasons and natural cycles. 😊

I am not diabetic but can tell when my blood sugar is low as I get headaches, tingling in my finger tips and sometimes dizziness. I never succeeded on strict diets where I had to skip meals when I was younger. Now that I am turning 71 tomorrow I have learned to eat at least twice a day and occasionally adding a small healthy snack like a little oatmeal or something that has protein in it. I try to drink water, hot or cold tea, occasional coffee. No soda and no junk food. I haven’t lost any weight but I feel better, more alert and have more energy. I am 5’2 size 12 to 14 and my bmi is 31. I am still working and active and when the weather improves I will be walking as often possible. Also no smoking ever or alcohol either. Of course the carbs and sugar you ingest your body converts into a kind of alcohol which is why it’s bad for your liver.

I started by cutting out sugar first. Went bulletproof, did that for 2 weeks then I cut out the carbs for 2 wks all while narrowing down the eating window from 12-6pm. I agree w/Dr E, ease into it and def go easy on urself. Suffice it to say, I did not work out hard during this time either.

I went straight into OMAD after eating 2 or 3 times a day. Even though my stomach was growling hard, I told it to shut up! But then after like 4 days, my body adjusted and I only felt hungry when I ate around 6 pm

Thank you for all the info you provide to all of us. On the pizza recipe with the cabbage on the side, I make my own cabbage salad. To get it a little softer I put the cut up cabbage in a strainer and pour boiling water over it. Let it drain then add salt, pepper, vinegar and a little oil.

I developed my own meal plan for OMAD/low-carb and lost 25 lbs in 10 weeks and my glucose numbers went normal right away. Nice to see how you implement OMAD/low-carb. Can you please do a video on what should be our target weight range. Doctors and dieticians seem to be trained to turn this questions back onto you and say it depends on what makes you “feel” comfortable. I am now 183 lbs, male, 58 years and 5’10” and I need to decide if 160-165 lbs is where I should stabilize my weight to for optimal health. Also, in this excellent video can we infer that you ate a low calorie diet that week to readjust to your own weight target, or are you really eating 1300 to 1500 calories most weeks?

You made my day. I love trader Joe's and didn't know they had the cream fresh. I've never had it but know I will love it. I like Greek yogurt, sour cream, heavy whipping cream. I'm back on one delicious healthy meal a day. I called trader Joe's and they carry the product. One more great food to help me not gain weight back. I was sick long haul C,19 in the gut. Suffered from not being able to eat much and lost nutrition and lost weight. Doctor told me to eat square meals. Gained ten pounds now I'm better and can eat once a day. ,5.1 A1c but can't eat hardly any sugar. Thanks.

A great way to only use a teaspoon of tomato paste without wasting a whole can…take a chocolate/candy mold, put the paste in a ziplock bag, snip the corner and pipe it into each cell of the mold. Place it in the freezer. When completely hardened, pop them out into a freezer container or baggie. You now have a pre measured bit of frozen paste ready at all times.

I was surprised how low your grams of protein were. I worry about losing muscle while losing weight. I’m 37% body fat even though I’m close to my ideal weight. I’m working at building muscle with resistance training and eating higher protein (about 80-100 grams daily). I’m a 61 year old female and have lost 70 lbs using keto/OMAD. Thanks for your work Dr. Ekberg.

20-25% is not low. At 1600 kcal per day 25% protein is already 100g. If you are still losing weight, You should still eat 20-25% protein of the total energy usage per day, that includes any fat you are burning from the body!

I have the same problem, and since starting keto, I believe much of my weightloss is palpably muscle loss, my quads are smaller than ever, but my body fat index has barely budged. Am a bit worried. Are you managing to build muscle? What is your workout routine, if you dont mind sharing?

Being on the road 18-19 hours a day, not having the comfort of a home, cooking privileges from scratch, especially with supply shortages in these days I can’t find solution how to follow this wonderful advice. Arriving home I just fall in bed exhausted. A few hours later just jump out of bed running for work before hits on the morning traffic jam.
