The best vegetable in the world for constipation is OKRA. Saute with garlic and oil, do not cut, as the slimy substance will come out and most people do not like the taste of it. Keep it whole and saute only until it turns slightly dark green, only for about 1 or 2 minutes. It should be still firm and have a slight crunch to it. You can add some spices if you like but I used garlic salt, just a bit, not a salt lover. I usually choose the small Okra and still green, not the yellowish ones as they are a bit older and tougher. Okra also is good in batter and fried, but it is healthier when sauteed. I had a friend who had a problem with constipation and she suffered for 4 days not being able to go. I made her the sauteed Okra and didn't tell her the effect of this powerful little veggie. The next day she told me that it worked like a "BOMB" and she felt sooo great and relieved. So, try it, folks. This is a thousand times better than any other fruits or veggies. No need for med. You will love it, and please, thank God for His creation.

I've also added chickpeas and have limited my red meat intake and I eat small amounts.of other meats. I feel great! I have a hiatal hernia so being constipated exacerbates my pain. I’m consuming magnesium in addition to MiraLax and veg laxatives as needed. I’m seeing a GI next month however not many docs are interested in WFPB. Also I’ve read that constipation is a compliant post COVID infection.

What type of magnesium to take for gas and bloating causing constipation ? Can one take milk of mag?? Or just take mag ?supplemnt??mag what??
@dennisward43 Жыл бұрын
Digestive enzymes and magnesium helped me. One of the biggest causes of constipation is low stomach acid. For this apple cider vinegar/flaxseed oil/fish oil or vitamin C (or a combination of them) just before meals or a betaine hydrochloric acid tablet during meals can be beneficial. I also think for those people also suffering with chronic anxiety it may be an indicator that they are stuck in an anabolic state. In this case it is better to take magnesium/flaxseed oil and fish oil supplements early in the day and apple cider vinegar in the evening. If you have chronic constipation cut down on the fibre until you have resolved your problem or else you are just compounding the problem.

@@marilynnfrazier1960 I added one apple a day to my diet (I Love apples) but if I have more than one,, my stomach hurts. What seems to help me (a lot) is 'dried 'prunes'

When my son was 8 years old I took him to the doctor who did blood work . The results were bad. He referred us to a gastroenterologist who realized that he had frequent diarrhea. He put him on a high fiber diet. That regulated him and he had normal bowel functions.

Fiber never helped me interesting 🤔 I guess everyone is different. For me I did better on keto or carnivore diet. Not a lot of food choices but I don't have the health issues I once had. But each to their own

I am having some gut issues. It feels like it's killing me. Some of the stuff you have recommended sounds reasonable and I'm going to incorporate into my diet. Some are going to have to wait. I'm not that brave just yet. An all plant diet is on the shelf. I am an American, my eating habits are going to be a challenge to change. It all comes out in the end has a whole new meaning. Thanks for your expertise and for taking the time to put things into layman terms. I learned more in fifteen minutes from you than I've learned my whole life. I appreciate that.

I feel the same. I can go for a long time and go with zero issues, then bam, my system stops working. I take probiotics, enzymes, eat pretty good and it doesn't matter. Right now, I'm on day 12 of zero b.m. Absolutely so incredibly miserable. I hope you are feeling better.

I heard from someone (a doctor "prescribed" this for her mother, that had a certain medical complication) that you should drink 20 oz. of warm water to start your day, before anything else. I started doing that and noticed my "tummy" feeling better.

What also works for me is lemon juice mixed into pure coconut oil (equal measures of each) - try 20ml of each to begin with. Also works to remove kidney stones (40 ml of each of lemon and oil).

Really glad he mentioned magnesium. I started taking magnesium citrate last year and ot helped me so much. I drink so much water but I was having hard poops and it caused a hemmie and a tear 😭😭😭😭😭 The magnesium citrate was a complete game changer. No more issues! I can poop without fear.

I take magnesium pills every night to help me sleep And poop. They work great. I could never drink mag citrate every day. It has a laxative in it and nauseates me. I take ducolax if I really have to have a laxative...if it's been a week or more.
