Had a mri scan in January, found out i had discoid meniscus and had surgery for it. Still in the recovering process and am very thankful for the engineers who created these fascinating machines!

I had an MRI on my left knee in April because I had surgery back in March 2022 and I was still in pain even though surgery was supposed to stop pain. I got the results in June and found out I’ve got fluid in my knee. I’m hoping to get it drained because I’m in pain plus I get swelling nearly all the time and the hot weather is making it worse

Omg, i have knee fluid for two years now, and the doctor has asked me to get an mri bcz he cant figure out whats wrong, my knee is swelled and hurts on folding it
@patriciawalker54253 ай бұрын
@@striker1917I am suffering from a very swollen knee too, which feels like it has fluid in it, behind the leg also, meaning I can't bend it. I asked the Physio if I could have it drained and he told me they don't tend to drain them, because they fill up again. He gave me a steroid injection which had absolutely no effect, so now he's referred me for an MRI scan. At this point, if I need a knee replacement, much as I fear it, at nearly 65, I'll have one if it means an end to this excruciating pain.

Ask about open MRI
@DepDawgАй бұрын
My trick is to walk in backwards or with my eyes closed. I can’t see the machine or I freak out. I bring my favorite snoopy washcloth and cover my eyes so I’m not tempted to peek. And I ask them to put on the fan that blows on my face. That way I have no idea when I’m in the tube and when I’m not cuz I can’t see it and the air still makes it feel like I’m in open space. If that’s still frightening to you, ask for an Rx of 2mg Valium and take it an hour before the test, and then do the things I suggested. It will be a breeze.

Can someone help me ? How do you change the oil in these tomography machines, does anyone have a video doing the oil change?

If you have access to a tomography machine and are asking this question to know how to perform maintenance on them, I hope I never go to your clinic. Care to reveal your employer?

Dose accutane affect MRI? I have one next week and I’m currently on accutane
@russellhamner48985 ай бұрын
Too late now, but I've never heard that. MRI measures tiny changes in the spin of electrons around hydrogen atoms in water and fat in your body, and that's affected only by certain compounds like the contrast solution sometimes injected before an MRI.

I have a knee MRI and I am claustrophobic I don't want to go all the way in do I have to
@MRIPETCTSupportEngineer5 ай бұрын
@@RB-gr6ks Typically with knee MRI scans, you’re positioned feet first in the magnet so your head and shoulders will not be all the way inside. You should have a clear view of the whole room during your exam. Good luck with your knee MRI!

I attempted to have one last week and they put me in up to my head. It didn't happen, I had a panic attack.
@DepDawgАй бұрын
Depends on how tall you are. I’m short so I’m in up to my hairline. I’ve learned to take 2 mg Valium an hour before, walk in backwards or with my eyes closed, and put a washcloth over my eyes so I don’t peek. If I don’t see the machine, I don’t panic. Just let the radiology tech know, and she will guide you with your eyes closed. Oh, and ask the tech to put on the fan. It will blow on your face and it will feel like your in open space. Since you can’t see, your brain will still think you’re out in the open and won’t panic. Sounds dumb, but I have regular brain and spine MRI’s every 2 years - head first. I have learned these tricks the hard way. They totally work.
