I'm much newer to the Pokémon franchise, as you know, but I think the evolution in music also shows an evolution in musical styles in gaming in general. I think that hearing remakes or remasters of original game themes from the 80's and 90's can sometimes be hard to become accustomed to, especially if nostalgia strongly colors one's perspectives of the original. For what it's worth, I'm looking forward to playing this game with my kids, as they find the regular Pokémon games too complicated at this point, and lost interest in them quite quickly after starting playing. Even Angie is looking forward to playing this game due to the integration with Pokémon Go, which she enjoys quite a bit. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the music! I look forward to more!

Also, really loved the video, remasters of these themes have always been fascinating to me, and I'm excited to see more and more discussion of what makes these tracks so memorable and endearing, both in the past and the present. My favorite soundtrack of all time is the one from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Eplorers of Time/Darkness/Sky. Hope to see more videos like this one! 😁

Music aside, I don’t think I’ll be getting these games. If I want to play Kanto, I’ll play the actual kanto games or FRLG. I’m just so disappointed in how discouraging they’ve been to the core fanbase who is either tired of kanto, tired of the easy gameplay, or tired of the casual crowd being catered to for this long. If you want to play it, that’s fine, but after SM and USUM being just okay, LGPLGE don’t seem like improvements.

I am not going to judge the games until I play them, because I find no one can say how they truly feel until it's in their hands. I am going to enjoy it solely as a standalone experience reimagining the Kanto region. If you try to play Let's Go the way I prefer to play Pokemon games - setting up shop, collecting everything, and creating a routine in the world - I think you will be attempting to make it something it's not. I actually thinks this helps in keeping the value of Fire Red and Leaf Green, not rendering it obsolete for what it offers. Hoping for a better core experience with Gen 8!

I understand. However, I almost have to judge it beforehand to even know if it’s something I want to spend my money on. If I didn’t prejudge every game that was coming out, half the time I’d feel as though I’m wasting my money!
