The Beacons Way is a phenomenal route, especially considering you can do it all using public transport (trains from Abergavenny and Llangadog). Definitely one for the list!

I did the Wye Walley Walk from Hereford to Chepstow recently and the rucksack (not a cheap one) was a major problem, i threw it in a hedge near Fownhope and said I was done, only to come to my senses and put it back on. The rest of the walk, after a night of food, a few beers and good sleep in a Fownhope B&B, was a fantastic experience and I was buzzing at the end, a few days later. Moral of the story, whatever is causing discomfort will ease if you persevere, it's mind over matter a lot of the time. My poles saved the day too, I wouldn't have completed it without them, they're a massive help and definitely nothing to be ashamed of.

West Highland Way is fantastic! More places to stop and get refreshments that you would expect ( including honesty boxes) Generally easy to wild camp and exceptional scenery. Busier than I thought it would be but every stranger has a story to tell…

Good to hear of your trek all. Yeah, we achieve a heightened state of awareness when when we step outside of the cultural constructs in which we spend our time. Absolutely love it and of course the earth is a vibration and immerse yourself in it and not the office you're bound to resonate at a different frequency. It's all energy - heck the matrix! Well, good going. Mark

Either the beacons way (6-7 days ish). Or do the Epynt way around which follows the perimeter of Sennybridge training area. It’s very rarely walked and not very well known so would be good to throw some coverage on it.

Interesting vlog. I have never considered the Cotswold Way but will have to try that this year. I'm surprised that you hadn't really used trekking poles. I've been using them since the late 80's. I certainly got some looks from other walkers in those early days. My friends were all initially a bit resistant but all have converted and now wouldn't go without them. My best and worst experience was a 10 day camping trek in Nepal. I had the 'Kathmandu Quickstep' for about 3 days which wasn't pleasant, especially when the toilet seat collapsed over the 's*1t pit' in the toilet tent!

Thank you! Yeah, in my experience it's not particularly common to use poles these days, despite their undeniable usefulness. Oof, that doesn't sound particularly nice. I'll admit I did have to Google that but I sort of wished I hadn't, haha.
