Thank you so much for this great video. I injured my ankle on a C5 en route to Saudi Arabia for the Gulf War. I have a c and p exam coming up for an increase. I’m currently 10%. Over the years I’ve broke my left foot 3 times and the right 2 times as well as two sprains. I’ve been treated for hip and back pain explaining to doctors that I over compensate my left side due to the right ankle pain. I also get sciatica pain on the right side and have bone in bone in my knees. I’m hopeful to explain this enough in my exam as it’s getting worse. I can’t walk on concrete without having pain. I no longer walk the 2-3 miles for exercise because of severe pain. Often my right foot gives out on me and causes falls. I take ibuprofen frequently for pain and flare ups. Thank you for the information. My last c and p exam I felt like it was an interrogation rather than an exam 🥹

I had a severe ankle injury during ROTC training and the commander told me if I didn't do the qualifying run and physical fitness test I would wash out and be sent home ending my military career. I did the run and physical fitness test and made the ankle much worse. I've suffered multiple ankle injuries since because of instability and now it's traveled to by knees and back. Part of me was happy I was able to stay in but the other part of me is pissed because the Air Force was not looking out for my health. I'm considering filing with the VA

Ms Leah , thanks for your infomation. I just had a C&P exam. I've had osteoarthritis of the left knee for over 30 years I also have a post-op ACL tear in the same knee I currently have a 50% service-connected disability rating for this knee over the past 10 months I begin having issues with my left ankle I was being treated for gout but I felt that there was something other than gout going on with my ankle because he was unstable and giving way I was finally able to convince medical staff to give me an MRI turns out I have a grade 2 sprain of the anterior talofibular ligament I also have a grade-one sprain of the posterior talofibular ligament also a longitudinal tear of the peroneus brevis tendon I file the secondary claim for my ankle connecting it to my knee I was referred to physical therapy based on abnormal gait mechanics do you feel I filed my claim under proper circumstances , I would appreciate your feed back ?
@prestigeveteranmedical Жыл бұрын
Sounds reasonable for sure. Meniscal gears are know to cause instability and gait changes but I suppose it just depends on your records and what the examiner thinks it that makes sense. Best of luck and keep us posted

I had an ankle C&P exam yesterday and they didn't use anything to measure it with or do the motion test 3 times. Also, I have a several other issues going on that they did not take a look at. Is it normal to only look at one item at a time? I was sort of expecting them to go over everything in one exam.

If you provide a nexus letter will the supporting studies and the va drs disagree, how is that possible, They are disagreeing with established case studies that support your disability. I guess we just NOD with DENORVO review because the va dr is ignoring established case study and supporting evidence that you provided. But let's be honest here. The VA doctor does not work for the veteran. They work for the VA and they work to try to discredit the veterand deny his claim.

@@prestigeveteranmedical Actually you can file a Notice of Disagreement with DRO and an SR level rater will rereview your record again. I did it twice in 2012 and got my rating. You don't need to contact a lawyer so quick.

@@christophert7251 I never said that someone should contact a lawyer. There are also free options like VSOs. I’m not in the business of giving claims filling advice such as what you just suggested as it is a federal offense.
