I just walked out of my C&P exam for plantar fascitis. It only lasted about 15 mins, I was only asked about 5 or 6 questions and that was it. I though they would ask if it affected my social life with family or work but no. Then she went back and said I'm gonna change this to both feet, and check check check all boxes for both feet. I really hope I get rated correctly. She did write down interference with prolonged walking, sitting and standing.

I was diagnosed with planters at my first duty station. Was injured overseas while on mission. Once back home I did the whole medical gamut was checked out by a Doctor before going to my second duty station, that’s where things got interesting. Once I got out of the service and my feet were hurting more, I did an intent to file for my planters fasciitis. Well my C&P exam was pathetic to say the least, it was basically take your shoes and socks off and stand flat on the carpet, yep flat feet the examiner said, 6 months later I got denied not enough evidence. I could barely walk, so, I decide I’m going to file for a supplemental claim, where I went wrong was not going to a podiatrist first, so I went to a VA podiatrist they did X-Rays, scans etc. definitely planters fasciitis in both feet, they gave me insoles for my shoes, fast forward a couple weeks later feet were still in bad pain, I went and seen another VA Podiatrist they did X-Rays Scans etc. They told me my feet were bad showed me the X-Rays broke everything down to it’s basics gave me new insoles, foot boots for sleeping at night and said stretch, roll your feet and if that does not help we will can do steroid injections. A couple weeks went by, still in pain went back to the podiatrist and got the injections. The VA Dr. wrote excellent medical notes with great evidence for my planters. Fast forward, I got another C&P medical exam with an actual Dr. and soon as I met Dr Erika we sat down she was very cordial and she pulled up two screens and my medical report and she said what do you see here? Do you see any in congruencies I said yes, she said exactly. She said why do they have you marked with planters on your first duty station and not your second one? remember above when I said my second duty station was where things got interesting? They did not bother to even do consider my medical history so nothing was marked down at all even my injuries while running missions over in Iraq. All in all it took me about 1 1/2 hour to complete this exam she was very professional and thorough. She had all my current medical notes from my podiatrist and all my other injuries. I’m hoping now that I will get an approval, I will just have to wait and see. Great Video and info.

I enjoy your videos and the info you put out. I do have questions regarding my feet. 1) - I do have service connection on both feet 10% Service-connected disability for Bilateral plantar warts Effective date: 12/01/1985. I am now having major problems with constant pain in both feet. Right foot has major problems with severe pain in toes and heal due to heal spurs; Left foot is the outer edge and toes plus heal spurs. In addition I now have developed extreme Hammer Toes of Left foot and noticing that the right foot appears to have started moving in the direction of hammer toes. Between the hammer toes, bi-Lateran plantar warts, bi-lateral heal spurs and the loss of feeling of feet and half way up the calf of both legs & feet. Could all of these conditions be attributed to the plantar warts of both feet? Or is it possible that it could be caused due to my Post operative L4-5 microdiscectomy with residual right sciatic pain syndrome rated at 60% effective date: 08/12/1996. Thank you and I look forward to your reply. I am currently rated 100% due to IU and a combined rating of 80% due the individual issues that I’m rated for, plus now also drawing Aid&Attendance. Below is complete disabilities: 50% Depression effective 07/19/2021 60% Post operative L4-5 effective 08/12/1996 10% bilateral Plantar warts bot feet effective 1201/1985 0% Surgical scar effective 07/19/2021

Try to figure out how to approach this. Have rather chronic Plantar Fasciitis in left foot. My left leg has issues from a brown recluse spider bite ( or they think, no witnesses) while serving. They removed a good bit of dead tissue and then lots of brown spots appeared on the leg. Leg swelling and pain was common for years and finally some varicose veins were removed. That helped for a while but now the swelling is back and PF has appeared. My question is can the PF be a primary claim or is it secondary and if so secondary to what?

This was such a helpful video. I was diagnosed by my unit PA with bilateral plantar fasciitis and collapsed arches while on active duty, directly related to my time in service and ruck marching as he has in his notes. I have received non surgical treatment in the form of PT and insoles, and also have received cortisone injections in each foot (is this considered surgery?) Everything is noted in my health records online. Nothing has helped the pain. What do you think my odds are for a claim of primary plantar fasciitis with flat feet being secondary? Do you think I'd need a nexus letter when I file a claim even tho it happened on active duty? Thanks so much. Just trying to figure out where to start. I plan on filing my claim 6 months out from leaving service.

I had a bilateral plantar fasciitis diagnosis and a history of treatment. My VA podiatrist believed there could be a link to my already service connected bi-lateral knee pain and surgery so I filed. The C&P examiner stated she did not see a connection before she even completed the exam. I was livid and began forming my rebuttal before I even limped by way back to the car. A couple of weeks later the examiner called me with more questions. I played nice and imagine my surprise when the rating came back as direct service connection at 30% rather than the secondary I had filed for. Turns out someone somewhere had documented I had pes cavus (high arch) while in service.
