I wonder if Cuba will ever be ready for tourists again? I was there in March and although some improvments, there are still so many shortages. And I felt bad vacationing there while Cubans are protesting over no power and no food. :(

My husband and I are in cuba right now. We are staying at a brand new adults only resort called Sanctuary White Sands in Cayo Cruz. 55 minutes south of Cayo Coco Airport. Beautiful resort, quiet, and of course, the ocean is gorgeous! Food is ok . I'd recommend this hotel to my friends and family. We also stayed at Villa Gale Cayo Paredon resort in Cayo Paredon, just 20 minutes from Cayo Coco Airport. Absolutely amazing hotel. Service was top-notch! It is a Adult & Family resort. We highly, highly recommend this resort to anyone!❤ Another amazing resort in Holguin is Sanctuary Grand Memories Holguin. Adults only. My husband and I love Cuba as much as you and your wife.

Hallo, I like to see you again with the pleasant and realistic opinions. I think some people do not quite understand your straight forward presentations and still choosing Cuban resorts expecting far more they paid for. We were in Cayo Coco in March tis year and regardless this country economic problems in resort wasn't any shortages at all.Toilet paper, napkins, bottled water fresh in the room and enough prepared food to compose dishes for 7 days without getting bored. Political situation did not affected our place at al. Nice and quick service, friendly people, bars full of stuff and wonderful ocean, clean good resort resort (Tryp) and very safe. Thank you Finding Fish for directing us there. But first of all we want to thank to all who served us for doing good job and excellent vacations. We certainly be back there next year.😊❤😅

Hi Mike, I have my eye on Sol Rio de Luna y Mares Resort in Holguin. If you fly out on a Saturday with Transat it is the perfect flight. You leave at 11:00 am so when you arrive your room is ready. You fly home at 4:00pm so you get to enjoy the hotel for the morning, check out at noon and jump on the bus to the airport. This hotel was recently renovated and has a beautiful looking beach. It's one to keep in mind. Cheers and keep the video's coming.

Thanks for the teaser video, Mike. Looks like the best is yet to come! It will be nice to see Jenn back in Cuba. Those videos add an extra dimension, seeing new places through a couple’s perspective. Knowing how much you crave tranquility to recharge your batteries, I second the vote for Villa Lindamar in Cayo Largo. Adorable A frame bungalows with ocean view, small boutique atmosphere, and this time, you really should rent a scooter and explore all of the hidden beaches that are off the beaten path. Over the summer months, you’d have to catch a flight from Montreal. Pearson has dropped Cayo Largo over the summer months due to low demand. My reasoning is that if Cayo Largo was easy to get to, then everyone would come. Right now, it’s very much a hidden treasure. Lindamar will give you a different vibe from your previous Memories experience. Mike in Cuba was a welcome morning surprise, as we awoke to a snow storm in Saskatchewan today. Keep ‘em coming!

I’ve walked through it, and it’s next on my list. Staff was awesome, Oscar gave us a tour. Later, met Oscar from Lindamar over at Sirena Beach, and he gave us a tour and history lesson of Sirena. With Pearson departures on pause, Cayo Largo is really quiet and remote place right now.

Interested to see the rest of this resort etc , that beach looks quite nice , we just returned from CSM on the 27th , might be somewhere else to check out....its all about the beach. Speaking of which, when we went to Holguin 10yrs ago , we stayed at the Brisas Covarrubius, a 3 star at the time , but it has a nice long beach for walking , even a channel to cross with the possibility of exploring more. A smaller resort, family at the time , farther from the airport , one of the longest , I would say 2-2.5 so far from ideal, but we chose it for the beach. It has been taken over by Muthu now , opening soon , so I would think there would be some renovation to the rooms etc. Looking foward to seeing more about this place , thanks, hope you both enjoy the trip.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar is a great resort .Playa Ancon isn't as nice of a beach as in the Cayos but it's close to Trinidad city which is a fun city to explore.

My wife and I have a preference for Playa Costa Verde in Holguin. Nice size resort, around 400 rooms. Nice beach with fantastic snorkeling. Love your videos by the way. We do not go to Cuba for the food, we go for the people, Cubans are super friendly and we enjoy seeing them.

Playa vista azul varadero is great, been 3 times

We were in Varadero a month ago. The biggest negative was some of the other tourists. Mostly being Russians. Who got in front of us (by budding) at every line up. Dinner, bar, snack bar, etc. Sooo rude. Cuba has a 30 yr agreement with Russia now. So it’s going to get worse before it gets better. They can get there so cheap. Airport was a nightmare as well. 2+ hr line up coming. 2+ hr line up going. The beaches are great! So far. Our most memorable vacations have been Aruba, Costa Rica & Curacao. Next ones on our list are Belize / caye caulker & Roatan. Maybe St Lucia. Safe travels Mike. Shawn in Stoney Creek

For Cayo Santa Maria, I have been to quite a few resorts. My overall favourite right now is Melia Las Dunas, I gave it the best overall score. In two weeks I will be trying Cayo Ensenachos, Iberostar Selection Ensenachos, and I want to try Valentin Perla Blanca.

Hey Mike and Jenny!! Love the videos!! We’ve gone on our trip to the Memories Caribe a few weeks ago and your video pumped us up prior to arriving. We just watched it again to reminisce of that beautiful resort! So, you want to go to some new places in Cuba. Between Varadero and Havana (Varadero airport), is a place called Jibacoa. The Memories Jibacoa is absolutely beautiful. Very picturesque. Not the longest beach in Cuba, but amazing snorkelling and a mountain to hike. Hope you get the opportunity to go. Love the videos!! We stayed at Starfish in Cayo Gillermo for two weeks back in 2019 and had an amazing time! We stayed in one of their two bedroom, two bath cabins with an ocean view. It's apparently changed hands since then and I would love to see how that resort is running now in 2024. Back then we had stayed for $1650 per person and found great value for the money we spent. I would definately stay again!

Hi Mike, in Holguin I would check out Sol Luna de Mers. We were there about 10 years ago but it was great. In Cayo Coco maybe have a look at Melia Jardines, things seem to be finally turning around for most places. I have been there about 8 times and always good with some hiccups recently but it was atough time for them to go thru.

I was in Mexico In Oct (near puerto morelos) the hotel was nice but the beach was yuck due to sargassum.

Heading to Cayo Coco myself next week on the 25th of the month. Looking forward to getting back to Memories Caribe again. Great resort, great beach, and great staff. I am far from a picky eater so the food does not bother me. I will always find something and enough to eat. Cuba is not for everyone, but if you know what to expect, you cannot beat the deals.

Buenas Noches mi amigo, So nice to see you back in Cuba..although I did enjoy your 30 day tour on a budget 👍🏽 Mi familia and I went to the Grand Sirenis Resort in April 2023, Grand Aston in July 2023, Hotel Playa Cayo Santa Maria in November 2023 and Dhawa Resort in March 2024. I really like the Las Brujas location where 3 of the resorts we visited above have a protective cove area which reduces large waves from hitting the shore. Mike you have met my young kids and they love to snorkel directly off the shore. Small waves and a gradual grade are super important factors of a beach to me. I have joked with my wife ... "I would eat sandwiches for breakfast, lunch and dinner as long as my kids can snorkel at a beautiful beach every day" ...she didn't find that too funny though 😂 So although we visited Grand Sirenis, Grand Aston & Dhawa Resorts which are all beside eachother.. I am requesting for you to visit The One Gallery Resort in Las Brujas whenever possible. We look forward to seeing your next video and enjoy the playa. This series of videos will for sure be EPIC!! We plan on going to the Royalton Hicacous this year. Not sure if you have done a video on this Resort but it looks like a pretty good one. Cuba was a great trip for us and we plan on trying some different Resorts in the coming years. Sounds like you have a plan to accelerate your travel blogger business and that is great!! Hi Mike and Jen - we loved Sol Cayo Coco because of the beach and the bay. The staff there were wonderful. We also loved Playa Costa Verde in Holguin, great place. Years ago we stayed at Breezes Varadero (now Los Cactus) it was a nice adults only then and we had a great time there as well. Planning to go to Cuba for our 20th anniversary early November, not sure where we'll go. Love all your videos.⛱️

@@Finding-Fish we paid 1000 Canadian for a week at the end of Feb ! It was a long bus ride , but honestly was worth it . The beach is beautiful, u can watch the cargo ships come in . It’s not like Santa Maria’s Beach but the resort itself makes up for it . Plenty of pools and dining options , tons of bars and excellent drinks . We paid for Sanctuary ( adults only ) and it was well worth it . We had are own bars with premium drinks , a butler service and 2 adults only pools to chose from ! Plus we could use the facilities at the rest of the resort also . Not one shortage when we were there !! But deep down , Cayo Santa Maria has my ❤️

Hi Mike....we went to Iberostar Coral Esmeralda (adults only) twice this year so far.....Feb and April. Quiet small adults only. Next door is the Iberostar Selections Esmeralda....sister resort for families. There is also the new Sanctuary White Sands (Adult only) that just opened March 1, 2024. The beaches are the best in Cayo Cruz.....soft white sand and gentle depth of ocean with sandy bottom. Also to the right of Iberostar is the Valentin and the Marina Plaza Hotel. All are only a 5-10 min walk from each other.
