It’s our favorite ship! Was on it with my wife and our kids (10,13) in late August and had an amazing time. There’s something for everyone. There’s tons of opportunities to party like there are a ton of opportunities to relax. It’s up to you to decide, but neither encroaches on the other.

I found this video so interesting, as I find American short cruises are so different to European short cruises. In mainland Europe, lots of people use really short cruises as a mode of transport, and in the U.K. it’s often a way to relax for a quick weekend. It sounds like you’ve got a party ship going on over there 😂🎉🎉

hah we do! All weekend sailings in the US are party ships. Def not used as a ferry as the options are too limited! I have never done an overnight Ferry somewhere but would love to!

Love your insight. Going solo on Utopia in December for a week just so I can get it all done. Plus 2 days on Coco Cay is awesome. I love people watching so a win! If everyone stays up late, then I have the ship to myself in the morning.

Thanks for the great info! I would book Utopia as a free casino cruise keeping in mind the party. But it probably would not be my first choice.

Utopia is my favorite ship. I’ve been on symphony and oasis and we’re going on harmony next year. The shows on utopia were amazing 🎉

Good info Brandon! I'm starting to think RCCL is trying to muscle in on the Virgin Voyages demographic but on a much larger scale! I think that is where Richard Branson made a mistake. The Virgin Voyages should have a bunch of party pools surrounded by bars. I have Utopia booked next year for my birthday next September and it is the 4-night cruise. I would guess it will be not amped up as much since it isn't a weekend cruise. Definitely looks to be a different vibe than Allure of the Seas which I have been on twice!

I enjoyed a 3-night cruise on Allure since it felt just like a normal cruise, just shorter. I would never go on a "booze" cruise on Utopia.

Brandon, are you keeping with Royal or are you going to go back to MSC? I know that MSC had offered you a good value, and that you enjoyed their private island, but has Royal lured you back?

Hey Alex, great question! I am a free agent these days and going lots of places! Remainder of the year have several RCL booked and then next year I switch over to more Celebrity. I've been booking well in advance to score a few solo cabins making a huge difference. MSC is currently booked strong for 2026.

Too much partying. Music and speaker volume was too high. In medicine and deathly afraid of hearing loss with our current tech usage. The decibels would most likely exacerbate the hearing of the elderly. Was on back-to-back Utopia cruises and thoroughly loved the ice skating and aqua theater entertainment. However, the volume everywhere on the ship was deafening esp the theater and promenade entrance. They can still be a party cruise even if the music is not on full volume. Only chill public spaces were the suite lounge and crown lounge.

Sounds like Utopia is not the ship to take the children with you. Maybe some of the grandparents too. 😅

It has kids activities but I def feel it is more an adult ship. There were also a lot of teenagers there that seemed to enjoy the energy too. Ha, I was on a celebrity ship this past weekend and a group of grandmothers were tearing it up!
