Nice Video! I think that 84G/W will probably be renumbered and become a Punggol feeder service after the Punggol Coast ITH opens wor.

I suspect 84 will be extended in the future since LTA chose not to reclassify and renumber the service. Just like 860 and 983 when it was first introduced, it was sort of like a feeder service but extended in the future to further serve commuters outside the planning area. Unsure where they will extend but for now, its job is to serve SIT students and Northshore residents....

I mean 84 original purpose was to serve Punggol Settlement and Jetty as to recover 82 lost sector when it was changed to begin at Punggol Int and loop at Serangoon Central from Serangoon Int (Old)- Punggol Road End. (Also, the original 3-point-loop is no longer covered by service 84)

This is the first time that both G/W plate services call at the same bus stops, as well as first G/W trunks. However, considering the main purpose of 84 was to serve Punggol Jetty as a trunk, I don’t see the point in keeping the trunk branding now. If it amends to PNITH, this might convert to a feeder.

I also have a hunch that if this trial is a success, then it will also affect service 232 down the line, assuming the plan to integrate 230 into 232 and bring about a return of 232G and 232W is still on. This is going to be the first time that a G/W route calls at the same bus stop in both directions. At present none of the existing G/W routes (225, 243, 382, and 410) share a same bus stops in both directions. So if there are no hiccups with identifying the direction which 84G and 84W are heading, then it's safe to assume that people will have no trouble with taking 232G or 232W towards Toa Payoh East (232G) or Toa Payoh Central (232W) at the bus stops near Block 192 along Toa Payoh Lorong 6.

@@naorierangeenviro500 Not quite. The bus stops outside Block 192 were erected after the completion of Toa Payoh ITH, and coincided with 232's integration with 237 into its current loop service form. Therefore, 232G and 232W did not share any bus stops.

Theres already a 859A before BSEP, then LTA introduced 859B. It was never a prefix G&W since intro
