After learning I had some residual disease, we are continuing along with adjuvant chemo. This time, Xeloda (Capecitabine). Round 1 was well tolerated. Learn about my experience!

I take 5 pills in the morning and 5 in the evening (2 times 1,800mg). Im on round 3 and other than fatigue, tiredness and loss of appetite, i feel ok. I will have to do 10 rounds. Pay atention to your nutrition. I eat no sugars, no carbs, no processed foods, no vegetable oils. Basically, i eat "clean" and i think that has a lot to do with how i'm coping with side effects and my general physical condition. I take black seed oil every day and curcumin supplement. Hope this helps. Stay strong & think positive ❤

Xeloda is touch but it sounds like you are doing everything to combat fatigue. Honor what your body can do and give yourself grace!

My older sister just finished her Round 1. Really thank you for doing these videos, it helps me to understand so if she feels nervous about how she is feeling I can explain to her the reasons why. Greetings and a big hug from Uruguay!

cut down all the sporting activity , you will recover better than if you put your body under more duress whilst being on chemo. I am a breast cancer survivor of 20 years.

I thought being active is beneficial while on treatment. You mean even exercise nothing?

I am about to start this treatment. I am not sure of the dosage but would not the dosage affect the side effects and tolerance to this drug? What would an average dose be? I'm sure it must vary for each condition. I also like the fact that I can self administer this orally at home.

I’m sorry to hear you have to start Xeloda! Can I ask for what truly of cancer or health issue? Yes I’m sure the side effects do vary, I was on 900 per day, each pill was 300 which I took at breakfast/lunch/dinner. Keep me posted on how you do on it! Everyone is different.

@@SurvivingBreastCancer intrahepatic cholangeocarcenoma , a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer with a high reoccurrence rate. However, I have been very fortunate, few are eligible for surgery. I had a nine hour surgery about a month ago. All margins were clear, the tumour was low grade, and there was no lymph nodes involved in seven that were tested. I was also fortunate I live twenty minutes away from one of the best tertiary care centres in my country. My recovery has been very good and I have no pain. There does not appear to be any macroscopic disease so Xeloda is suggested for Microscopic purposes. There is also recent trial evidence supporting this therapy will benefit my OS so I'm definitely in. I was told by my oncologist that it is fairly well tolerated...I hope so. Btw...I survived stage 2 colon cancer ten years ago with no chemo. Thanks for listening.

I am sorry to hear about your cancer, argh but I hope you found my video helpful! Keep me posted on how you are doing with the medication! I was on the medication for 6 months, by the end of it, my feet really started to hurt (no running, high impact etc. ) I hope you are able to tolerate it well! Sending hugs.
