I agree, At&T should be Required to destroy all old records. There's no good reason they need data from 63M former customers! Nice to know they're resetting peoples passcodes. But now these ppl are supposed to freeze their credit, & maybe change other info too, in other places.

I think it did. I found out by google sending me a notification about my old email address I don’t use. I hurried up and closed the email acct down and reported to the CFPB to make sure Att get reported

Great... last time this happened to me was in 2005 with Charter... I owned a home 3 states away and ruined my credit for 10 plus years.... AND they promised to pay for lawyer fees etc. All Bullsh1t.

One: a bad credit item only stays on your credit records for 7 years, not 10. Two: If there was a data breach, that fact can be added to your credit records so those legitimately checking your credit can see it. Check the laws passed in 2003. Three: victims of breaches are allowed free credit reports & many big companies provide private protection for at least a year. Charter is a big company.

@@sidhartharao2302you can 100% access data that’s offline as long as it’s connected to the broader network. Once the network is breached everything is fair game. It’s called lateral movement in the IT work. That’s why a lot of hackers target IoT devices due to weak security.

I’m confused by this, if AT&T has already reset our pass codes, how are we supposed to get back into our accounts? I use facial recognition to get into my account with my phone, and am nervous about manually signing out and then trying to sign in with my old passcode. In the past when I’ve had problems with AT&T, I have had to be on the phone for hours and hours and days and days at a time. So I’m just a little bit worried about that happening again. Does anybody have any advice on this?
