Great content. I wear my exotics as dress boots for the most part and I really enjoy them. The exception being ostrich. For some reason I feel okay with wearing them as daily wear. Not digging ditches or anything, but more casually than say my alligators

I love boots, I wear mostly J Toe and French toes. Mostly exotics. Love to dress up with black eel (almost looks like patent leather), caiman belly brown or black, if you want to be a bit more bold and aggresive maybe caiman tail. No matter regular cowhide, calf or exotic, I think a lot of boots can be dressed-up

I have some Dan Post Python boots and they were very comfortable and dressy. I took very good care of them and the Python still developed a small cut in the outter leather, which ruined the whole dress boots for me. But as of recently I picked up a set of black Cherry Lucchese’s for a steal, which will now be my “dress boots.” I am just over the skins that require special attention because they aren’t durable. I am on the hunt though for some shark or stingray I have heard they are actually tough and look nice...

I’ve always hated dress shoes. I love boots. Whether they’re my shitkicker work boots or my pair i kept nice for going out. Now i’m finally looking into dress cowboy boots and landed on lucchese Ryan which is shark skin. May even purchase Lance which is ostrich. I haven’t completely decided but these are to pair with a blue suit so they’re going to be a brown/tan. Going to try some on tomorrow as my buddy who usually wears a 12 in boots some how wears a 10 in lucchese. So i’ll try on sizes and see which I like better in person

I have a pair that are identical accept the brand, and find that DP are built to last, and lucchese has dropped in the traditional handmade manufacturing, also lucchese quality is starting to not look cheap but to the enthusiasts who don't know, lucchese is producing more models that look awesome, but are full machine stitching the soles/welts, I have a pair of tony lamas with the new machine stitching and they suck bad, I don't even think they have a shank in them, if you could please Jeremiah Craig if you have some input please share... I also remember that you had a topic on Ralph Lauren and lucchese, those pair you mentioned have the machined soles.... But I'm guessing minimal effort, maximum impact in the sense of trend, And denial in what is real quality and not poor quantities.
