Personally, I think the BRG version is super cool.

I bought my wife a brand new 2021 ND in Crystal Soul Red 2 years ago this week. The owner of my company has a "younger 84 year old' brother who had a first generation he bought new in '94. It was kinda ratty but my wife and 20 year old son bought it for me for Fathers Day. Told my son it would be our car, everything we do will be agreed upon. My son had told me the "Smurf Blue' was his favorite color, mine is black/tan. I was shopping online for parts the weekend before Xmas and saw a "91 Smurf Blue, 58K, 1 owner car...long story short, picked it up for my son for xmas. His was stock, we added wheels/tires and replaced the top (hazy back window). Mine, I have dumped a lot of time and $ into and still not done almost 2 years later. Been a fun time and I LOVE getting out in them for a drive!

I remember watching a similar video 5 years ago, except that the selling point was that you could buy one for $2,000. I did not have any luck buying one. The Miatas that I found were mostly between 4 and 6k. They are definitely getting harder to find.

Had one of these in my early twenties and it was my first reference to how a dedicated sports car should feel.

My ‘91 SE is a DD and terrific shape as I’m told by my mechanic and owners. Definitely a keeper especially in sunny SoCal.

Thanks for your MX-5 videos. We have owned and driven sports cars since 1970. We loved our base model 1990 NA, manufactured May 1989. I was pleased that she did not have power steering. Kept her mostly original, but later added and appreciated the headrest speakers. Good choice for us. She was one of very few MX-5s that did not have power steering. She was five years old with 63,000 miles on her when we made the purchase. Drove her for 20 joyous, trouble-free years and sold her to friends at a bargain price, having added only 3,000 miles per year. Still driving a MX-5, but this one is a 2019 GT-S. Love it!

I currently own two 1991 Miatas. Watching this video makes me want to keep one forever. First one is a blue '91 1.6L, manual trans with power steering, cruise control, aluminum wheels, ABS, and A/C. I don't plan on keeping it. Second is a blue '91 1.6L, manual trans with A/C, steel wheels, and a hard top. That one is a beater but it's also my favorite.

I have two 92's, bought one after enjoying seat time in my parents and eventually inherited the other. Fun little cars

How is the car treating you? I’m about to buy one tomorrow 1990 160,000 miles. I’m just worried about the short nose crank.

@@Bryanflow818 i love the car. although its not my daily. changed the brakes and thats about it, the rest is stock. routine maintenance and ina garage in the cold Kansas winters. short crank can be an issue, just check if its wobbling when its idling. i watched videos about it too before i got mine. Good luck and hope you love it

Americans are lucky. Where I live you'll get a rusty POS for $5k if your lucky. A decent NB will cost you at least $8k, more likely $10k or more.

The biggest mistake when buy my miata was buying a soft top big mistake. Even though the car came with factory wire wheels nobody replaces tires with wire wheels! It also came with a factory tonneau cover to cover the rag top with the 2 little humps to make it look like a racer! The hard top costs more than the car is worth! What a pain in the ass!
