If you live in an older home that has single pane windows or aluminum windows that are starting to crack or pit, it may be time to replace those old windows with newer, more energy efficient vinyl windows.
Simonton windows are available coast to coast to consumers through their local builders and remodelers.
Vinyl windows are low maintenance top quality full-vinyl windows with fusion-welded frames and sash. These windows are made from premium extruded vinyl that resist peeling, warping or pitting.
These double pane windows feature Low-E glass with an insulating barrier of Argon gas between the panes that meet Energy Star program guidelines for each area of the country. Argon gas replaces the air inside the glass unit. Since it is heavier than air and is not in continuous motion like air, the transference of heat and cold is greatly reduced. In essence, the argon gas provides extra insulation.
Low emittance (Low-E) coatings are mircoscopically thin, virtually invisible metal or metallic oxide layers deposited on a glass surface to reduce heat gain into your home. As a result, these windows are 40% more efficient than products manufactured to meet common building code guidelines.
Windows have fusion welded frames and sash to prevent air infiltration and leakage. The Intercept spacer system, constructed of tin plated steel in a U-channel design, helps make the window more energy efficient. The U-channel flexes with the glass as it expands and contracts, keeping the seal intact and allowing less opportunity for breakage.
Dual fin weather stripping around the sash perimeter and triple weather stripping at the head and sill gives tremendous protection against outside elements.
