I think it is worth mentioning the washability of the garments. Also the accessibility for diaper change. I completely agree with not putting closures and/or buttons in the back! My children had several outfits (bought in a store) that buttoned in the back and it was a real hassle at changing time. They were still cute though!😊 Great video!

Very nice tutorial with good tips. Thank you. I have not sewn in 30 years, but now I'm back in the game.... Grandbaby on the way and I have made lots of useful items. Everything from burp cloths, bibs, receiving blankets, little hats, envelope shirts and diaper covers. And yes, I even ventured into the unusual... pee pee teepees for that little boys. :-)

Not sure if I can state this exactly so double check me. From fire marshal at haunted house....natural fabrics from 3 foot and up because natural burns to ash. Synthetics n blends keep on burning n burning and stick to skin. So fire damage is far worse. Ty Ty for this video!

Where do you find cute fabric for kids? Do you usually buy knit fabric for kids? Thank you.

Melissa, do you live in the US? Here I find it at Jo-Ann's and Hobby Lobby, fabric.com is a good one too!

Good tips ...especially the buttons at the back...some european brands do this ...auch! poor babies....and one more thing _ all pants should have snaps because when you change a baby 10 times a day or more you want easy access ...I just skip all the rompers without snaps ...and all the shirts without shoulders snaps, or envelop openings .....Nope.

Hi everyone, if you're like me and have the "did I wash the fabric" amnesia...do what I've done for the last few years. AS SOON AS YOU WALK THROUGH THE DOOR SHOVE IT STRAIGHT INTO YOUR DIRTY CLOTHES PILE, (or if perfect weather and you have time for the whole 'hanging meters of fabric dance' later on, throw in machine straight away) If you're like me, once in the dirty clothes pile, I will NEVER EVER do the teenage boy thing and pull it out and use it. It will have to be washed first!!😉

Simone - this is SUCH A GOOD ADVICE! I do exactly that, sometimes I am guilty and will forget to wash my fabric right away, and then the guessing game starts....
