Thank you - Brisbane based. Own a 550-side console Trialcraft. Bribie cape Moreton and beyond.. Appreciate your pointers. What boat style do you reckon gives a good ride off the coast. Looking to upgrade . Thanks Again

Thanks mate. Plenty of good boat brands out there. The ones I found to be a good ride and safe are, Quintrex Renegade, Old Haines Hunter, Surtees and Bonito boats. Good luck buddy.

Hi. When you set your anchor on reef, how do you manage to always retrieve it without permanently snagging it on reef ? Why do you not fish on the reef itself for large snapper? Can you provide some good videos or photos showing examples of end edge reef/sand transitions on your sounder? I’m really keen to learn how to observe these transitions on my sounder (Evo3S).. Thanks Cameron
@ShannonsFishing6 ай бұрын
Hi Cameron I will do a video on my anchor set up soon. As for the large Snapper over the years I have spoken to a lot of divers and they have noticed that the larger fish will hold off the reef and travel along the southern and eastern edges scavenging what ever get washed off the reef and picking off live baits. I live in Cairns now and the reef up here is not the same as down south so it will be hard for me to show you what my sounder looks like. Up here the reef is very chunky with big edges which are easy to find. If I find a fairly flat reef and colour changes on the sounder as the reef turns to sand or mud i will do a video for you. Until then it will take some practice on your part. Good luck mate.

@@ShannonsFishing many thanks for your reply. Interesting about the snapper foraging eating patterns. Would there be a difference in bottom / density colouration on the sounder when looking for sand and reef? If so, how would this change be represented?

Hi Shannon, awesome video, thank you, but one thing bugs me. How can you zoom the bottom the way you describe ( I have Lawrence hds12live)? Is there a way to see on the screen, while seating in 40m of water the first 5m-10m of the bottom in high frequency? I tried to use the zoom button, but it only stretches the current picture. Cheers
@ShannonsFishing Жыл бұрын
Hi mate Im not sure what you mean by it only stretches the picture. I would go to your local Lowrance dealership and ask them how to zoom into the bottom or take your unit in and they can set it for you. Good luck mate.

when you zoom in the bottom, at what speed are you traveling?, great information you give us and thanks , looking forward to your vids

Once I reach my GPS mark I slow down to idl then zoom in and look around. Thanks for the kind words mate and if there is anything you would like me to do a video on just ask in the comments. Thanks.
@weFishAU2 жыл бұрын
I'll offer my opinion, the slower the better. I generally aim for around 1 knot then I am looking for fish, up to 4 or maybe 5 knots when I am looking for structure.
