@@elcaminokyle6561 I was looking for a video where I could get some information on how to remove the cap that covers the roll back for the seat belts. So far I haven't found anything other then how to put the seatbelt through a new cover. The old one had cracked and he didn't show the original removal of the seatbelt on his El Camino.
@elcaminokyle65613 жыл бұрын
@@michaelpearce8661 I have never personally taken that back panel off or even messed with the seatbelt retraction system. Looks like there’s a video of a guy explaining how to take the cover on and off on a 1968. Not sure the year elco you’re working on

El Camino Kyle for sure man love the content! One question I did have is if you had any tips for buying a car online. I’m looking at classicautotrader and I’m trying to work around the fact that I can’t see it in person by being extra picky over emails
@elcaminokyle65614 жыл бұрын
Wonder_9 I’ve got no experience buying from online sites like autotrader, ebay, or dealers but I’ve got some input. For me, I’d personally (and have tried) to only use those sites when buying the one dream car. Besides that I’ve heard plenty of stories about being scammed out of deals, car not being as advertised, etc, etc. But I think it’s safe to say that the more valuable the car the more stable the deal will be. If I was in your spot I’d ask if the car is worth the risk, if it’s worth flying out to see, or if someone you know who lives nearby can check it out. Other than that I’d stick to Craigslist and Facebook, or if your plate and time allows - go out and drive your streets looking for cars hidden away that aren’t listed for sale. That’s the best way in my opinion

@@elcaminokyle6561 The one I'm looking at is in near perfect condition from a gallery in Michigan. Unfortunately, I'm from Miami so it's a bit far, but It is my dream car and I'm definitely gonna make sure it's a good deal. One of the best ways to get an idea of how well the car has been re done is to look up under the dash. Trust me, it's not usually a place a flipper will expend resources (time, money). Look for dust from bondo sanding, rust, critter nests, etc.

Can you trust classic cars from dealerships?
@elcaminokyle65613 жыл бұрын
Great question - whenever someone asks me for advice I tell them their money is better off spent patiently. Research and find a car that is suitable for you / you like, search for it over the span of a month to understand the pricing as well as valuing it with resources like Hagerty. Once you find a contender, whether it’s a dealer or private party, take your time and see it once if possible, gather as much info as you can, then post asking for guidance on apps like Reddit. That is shorty story long and the best scenario. Otherwise try finding someone knowledgeable to join you when looking, in my opinion go for private party deals, then dealers, then very lastly should be auctions. Reason being is because auctions don’t typically allow you to speak to the previous owner directly or do a pre purchase inspection, dealers could be hiding problems or at minimum can only tell you as much info as they were able to gather when buying the car over the span of an hour. And finally - nowadays most private party sellers prefer to sell to someone they like!
