You will never know how much this helped me. I need to buy a laptop this week. I haven't had one in almost 10 years, so I was totally out of the loop with what I needed. Now, I know exactly what to look for and don't have to ask a salesperson 100 questions, depend on their knowledge, or lack thereof. You are my tech hero! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

When my husband or brother in law try explaining computer technical stuff, they may as well be speaking Russian. Very good information and helpful tips! The only thing I would add is telling about the "con" of all-in-one PC's. When you purchase one you are stuck with what is in it; by that I mean there is no way to upgrade the power supply or the hard drive, the only upgradable part in that machine is the RAM. I made the mistake of buying one last year and realized I couldn't upgrade those parts too late. Am satisfied with the way it works but I like to get inside and "mess around" with the innards.
@ChardTheTechGuy
@ChardTheTechGuy 4 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that the tips were helpful. Yes I agree that's the only drawback of the All-In-One, but most people who choose those computers are not interested in upgrading any internal parts, they just want to plug and start playing.

Try to get a computer or laptop with highest processor (Intel i7) you can afford, get a least 16 GB RAM and a dedicated Graphic card (Nvidia or AMD), so the display doesn't feed off the system RAM. The final storage is a big key for you with photos, even if you don't get enough internally, get an external drive.

First of all, I want to thank you for replying. I have a few more questions if you don't mind. First, would u recommend Intel i5 or Ryzen 5 5600 for home use for work, browsing movies, etc... I like a good, clear, fast computer where I am also planning to buy a 2K monitor. Second, would you recommend a custom similar to a gaming PC or an all-in-one ready-made PC that has brands like Dell, HP? I am more into custom PC at the moment because I know they're fast and cheaper, but I am not too sure about buying them just yet. So I need your professional's recommendations. Thank you so much, God bless you, sir.

is there any reason to buy a new computer rather than on ebay?

Well, I would say the same principle as a car, new comes with a warranty and used as is. Go for the new if you can.

Hello Sherry, thanks for providing the item number so I could look up the specs for you. That's a keeper, no need to return it, most computers, laptops and other electronics are coming without the manual so don't be alarm, also if it was refurbished they would required to disclosed that to you. As far as the monitor, any of these brands are good (Dell, ACER, ASUS, LG or Samsung) it all depend upon size to determine how much you want to spend. You're very welcome!

It's going to be hard to find a computer at $200 new, possibly get one used for that price. And then I cannot guarantee it's going to be good enough to run Minecraft.
