B Spin Bfore you get a mower and a yard, see if you can find someone that is throwing away a "Blown up" mower and/or weed eater and tear them apart and put them back together as this is what I did with my kids when they were younger I am working on a Craftsman Eager-1 that is my oldest son's mower, a mower that he inherited from the previous land owner when my son bought the old guy's farm, and this mower is kicking my ass. The mower is jury rigged, and the plug wire has no boot. The plug wire is connected to the spark plug by wire taken from the damaged boot and wrapped around the plug tip and the wire from the plug is wrapped around the makeshift, missing boot prong When I got the mower the coil was off. I checked the coil with a multimeter but still not sure if it's good. I set the air gap at .012 with no luck. I have the same mower so I checked my air gap and my air gap is .007 so I am going to reset his coil and give it a whirl

I don't do KZbin comments - I've never seen the point. But..... Taryl and his gang's videos have been invaluable to me - I fixed my ride on, chain saw and hedge cutter - had it not been for these informative and 'breath of fresh air' videos I'd have been paying someone to do it for me! CAN YOU PLEASE SHOW MORE INFO ON THIS GENERATOR. I have read the maintenance schedule in the owners manuel but doesn't show any info on certain things like how to check the combustion chamber?? I know nothing except for the oil, gas and both filters lol...NEED HELP PLEASE!!!$$$$ You the only men in my life...Appreciate you so much. Love your videos and keep up the good work.

I have a Honda EU2000i Companion with the same issue. Ran great for about 6 months ...now no spark! With premium care! $1,100 POS! Warranty is a scam to rip you off further! And blame YOU! Honda's on thin ice with me! I'll bet it's that ignition module, because the generator passes all the value test for the oil shutdown switch, coil, stator, and the IPG. All these test bypass the ignition module, to isolate output from the item/circut being tested. Checking that module right away! Thanks Very Much!😷👍

Generator got left in the rain for one night without running. Ran perfect the night before. Fresh fuel with fresh oil and no spark. Any suggestions?? Been in the sun for three days with a good breeze.

think about doing a tear down and explanation of the Chinese Honda clone inverter generators , the company I bought mine from just sent me a new one when an issue came up, seems they have no interest in shop or parts manuals . Buy, use ,and throw away ... but if a customer wants to try to fix it himself, there are no resources for parts or specs ect

Great video, mine has spark but will shut off. Sometimes it will run for 5 minutes, 2 minutes, 10 minutes but then shut off. Has new oil, carb is cleaned. It has me ready to give up and buy a new generator.

Can you bypass for emergency running ? I spray starting fluid in carb and it will run for about 2 seconds then die . could that be ignition module ? Thanks for the laughs too -!!!

My EB3000c stopped putting out voltage camping over the weekend. The engine starts and runs FINE. Power output light is Green on the ignition unit but NO elec output at either the RV or 110 plug. How can I test whether it's the Ignition module or more expensive Cyclo Converter? Do these units have a stator since they use the CPU Cyclo converter instead of an alternator ?

First thing I do is isolate any component that could possibly ground the ignition. If still no spark, I check the resister (if applicable) in the spark plug boot...Then go from there.

Haha lol I just picked up a free eb5000 and fixed for for nothing. New pull cord and fresh gas. Runs like champ even with without an airbox or half the covers. Still over it tho.

You familiar with a 7000is Honda losing Spark I got the repair manual I got to go through all the steps but find in the heat all of a sudden shutdown I thought it was the oil sensor no spark also what it started doing is it would crank over about four turns and then the starter would kick off looks to me like the computer circuit for the hour meter Etc one of the capacitors may have got hot and popped that thing is 500 bucks I've checked the coil I've checked the coil pickup call that stuff it's in a switching mechanism in the computer or something the main computer was already replaced on this I think there was something wrong with the start circuit computer because it read way too many hours on it I bought this used I could tell the motor was like brand new but the guy didn't really take great care of it. Even that start monitor module is five hundred bucks so I just thought I'd ask if you had any experience with this it was running in the hot sun when it quit and it may have got a little too hot. When did things right though that is the best generator you can buy I bought one brand new but my house burnt down. it ran flawlessly for three years on natural gas and was set up by Gary over at genconnex. He's a pretty good guy to do with on natural gas and propane he will cover the three year warranty that Honda won't

I got the same version except mine runs and dies and I clean the carburetor and a hot tank and ultrasonic cleaner twice completely torn it down and still it runs and dies I even try to run it on either or starting fluid and carburetor cleaner and it still wants to run and die run for about probably 3 seconds and die what could be the issue probably buying a carb

Taryl love the videos. I have a problem with my riding mower it is an STX38 with 12.5 Kohler I put a new carburetor and coil on it and it runs for 20 minutes and then shuts off, please help

Eric Straight - I'm nowhere near as qualified as Taryl to suggest anything.... but in my trade as a heating engineer I often come across this problem with solenoid valves - the valve functions correctly at normal temperatures but after the boiler has been running a while - thermal expansion causes a failure of the coil and the boiler shuts down and can't be restarted until solenoid valve is suitably cooled. This might be applicable to your issue???

I have a Honda EB4000 with a dead coil. Its an older unit with points and the coil assembly is behind the flywheel. The Honda part number is 30560-899-601 and I cannot find one anywhere. I found a few similar in the UK and in China (of course) but nothing in North America. Any idea where I can find one or an upgraded part/part number?

Looks like your shop needs some work, lol Instead of going through the hassle and expense of putting unnecessary part on a piece of equipment disconnect the kill wire first and see if it starts. You learn that within your first week of working on small engines.
