I lived in Co Fermanagh and Tyrone for 10 years. It can be warm, even hot and dry for long periods in Spring/Summer, or cold and frosty in the Winter, but cool, cloudy and sometimes wet is common. The sheltered east is much dryer than the wet west. We used to get grass and forest fires in Spring and Summer when dry, and often the ground is wet and boggy. Over 20% of Ireland is bog! It is however an island in the North Atlantic exposed to frequent low pressure systems! This summer has been very warm and dry. However, the weather is variable due to its position in the North Atlantic, that is the main issue. One thing, in the west and NW of Ireland (the island), biting midges are common in the Summer. So get a skin applied midge repellent, you will need it!

You nailed that. I see to many tourists packing too much. Some advice make sure you have extra room in your main bag for souvenirs and take plug sockets that can convert you lap top/mobile charger to Irish plugs

I'm Irish most winters pack lighter than you would for a Canadian winter but warmer in summer than you would for a Spanish summer.. Ie its temperate. Don't bring leather jackets take plastic boots with a good sole, tennis style shoes, one really glam outfit for a Saturday night out, some makeup, umbrella, layers cardigans and cardicoats are great under lighter raincoats. Highend northface etc isn't really needed even climbing standard walking shoes or boots in our tiny mountains are fine.

When visiting Ireland, never complain about a Shepherds pie having lamb in it, Shepherds pie is traditionally made with Lamb, if you want the beef version, just ask for a Cottage pie.

@InroadsIrelandTours2 жыл бұрын
Hi Molly! The only thing we might add is to bring some "tech" shirts in case the weather is cool so you can wick away the moisture. Layering is key and don't forget the sunscreen!

Out of all the videos on packing for Ireland...I have so appreciated yours the most! I am traveling there the 1st week of November...other than a little warmer clothing/jackets any other suggestions?
@InroadsIrelandTours6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much - we're glad the video was helpful. Being in Ireland in early November, your suggestions are spot on - more long sleeve items, warmer jacket, rain jacket. Probably don't need any short sleeve shirts. A hat, gloves, and a scarf are good to have along. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Looking to visit the green lsland in mid January 2020. Any suggestions on what to wear, heavy coat, sweat shirts? 🤔
@InroadsIrelandTours5 жыл бұрын
Hi Aretha, We'd suggest a warmer coat and then layers that you can adjust as needed beneath. A warm hat, gloves, and a scarf are handy too. In Dublin, the daytime high temps are in the 40s Fahrenheit and it can be damp so it can feel chillier.

@InroadsIrelandTours7 жыл бұрын
Hi, The items mentioned in the video are still appropriate for March. Maybe take a warmer sweater and a warmer jacket. Have a great trip!
@InroadsIrelandTours6 жыл бұрын
Sure. You may want to bring more long sleeved items versus short sleeve as the temps can be anywhere from 0 - 12 Celsius (32 to 54 Fahrenheit) depending on where you are in the country.

My husband and I are visiting Ireland for the first time in June 2018. We want to do a walking tour either the Dingle way or the Beara way. Which would you recommend? Thanks for your thoughts! Heather
@InroadsIrelandTours6 жыл бұрын
Hello Heather, Thank you for your question. Both walking tours are beautiful and have spectacular scenery. The Beara is definitely less touristy and if you're looking for lesser known places, that would be a good choice. If you want to base yourself in the town of Dingle (a bit more touristy) and then head out on the Dingle way, that is a wonderful option. They are both fantastic choices and you can't go wrong. Hope this helps and you have a great time in Ireland!

Piper if you have the time visit both you will not be disappointed. I I'm from Cork City so I'm biased. The best way I can describe West Cork and Kerry is when God created both places he was in a very good mood. Hope you have a great holiday.

Do our curling and flat irons need adapters in Ireland?
@InroadsIrelandTours6 жыл бұрын
Hi Amy, For curling and flat irons, if it just plugs straight in to an electrical outlet, then you'll probably need a voltage transformer to change the power from 110 volt (US) to 220 volt (Ireland and Europe). Then you'll also need a plug adapter because the Irish plug is a different shape. If your curling or flat iron has a power source built into it that says it can take a range of voltage (110 - 240), then you wouldn't need the voltage transformer and would only need the plug adapter. On our Trip Prep & FAQs page, check out the "Electrical Items" section for more info and a picture of an Irish electrical socket, inroadsireland.com/trip-prep-faqs. Hope this helps and that you have a great trip!

Hello! Unless you are particularly sensitive to the cold, there is no need for thermal, even in the wintertime. As long as you stay dry and windproof, you should be fine. We know you will have a lovely time in Ireland! Enjoy!

John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Swimsuit in Ireland ? Are you serious?
@InroadsIrelandTours5 жыл бұрын
Yes! Many people swim at beaches, pools etc in Ireland and a swimsuit is useful for hot tubs or spa sessions too. Many of our friends swim year-round, braving the cooler waters for fun and fitness. During the summer months, it's common to see lots of people enjoying Ireland's many unspoiled beaches and lakes. So pack your swimsuit and join in the fun!
