Just today I had someone come up to me and ask who I'm able to talk to. One click to bring up the map is a great visual and they are usually blown away!

Agreed! HAMRS is a huge upgrade to what we all used to use for POTA. It’s also fun having people stop by and ask what you are doing

Also have used HAMRS in my first ever activation last month. Thanks for all that you do. I got to know about HAMRS through K8MRD & Jason on Ham Radio 2.0.

You should eliminate the hard case and easily carry the 7300 in your backpack where you keep the mic and power cord. If you need to have two packs I would pack the mic and cord with the radio. I have a backpack with the 7300, coax, efhw, mini-dipole, 20Ah Bioenno, power cord, spare fuses, microphone, connectors and arborist rope/bag regardless if I bring a push-up mast. If I don’t hike I’ll bring a vertical antenna.

Who needs a microphone? Run CW! LOL! 🙂👍 I did the same with power cable. I actually keep a third spare in my trunk.

I definitely need to learn CW. Not quite sure where to start but it is a goal of mine. I should have said don’t forget the mic or key 😉

What’s the purpose of a spotter?
@TheDadNerd3 жыл бұрын
Spotting puts you on the POTA.app website so others know an activator is on a certain frequency. Really helpful. If you have cell service I recommend going to the website and spotting yourself.
