I bought 1 pot of white agapanthus 12 years ago n planted it in the ground. It has flowered beautifully every year - 27 flower heads for the last few years!!

you can easily divide Calamagrostis plants and have multiple plants that way. They stand tall even after the latest big storm.

I'm enjoying my hydrangeas, I have in containers in my small garden, so many blooms. Herbs, rosemary, parsley etc. Calendula and succulents, especially Table Mountain succulent.😊

Hi Niall,sorry only catching up,life has me extremely busy,only catching up in last few days with many of you.May i say your garden is looking superbly beautiful. I love all the recommendations, Luz i do live chard, such a beautiful plant. Nuall Croscosmia ( sp 😏)i live it,i jave the orange and red in both my garden and allotment,its always so welcoming. Hope ye arent to windy in todays storm,had to get up early am to secure so much,forgot to last night. All good here thankfulky, and hope the same with you all. Thank you Nial, great video. My Allium Sphaerocephalon's have been covered in Bees throughout July. They are in large pots, but shall be going in the ground along with another bag full for next year. I have two differnt grasses in my bed, which are quite magical. They are stunning, when the sun light hits them a certain way their true beauty is undeniable. They bring movement & hight into the flower bed, I love them 🙏

I added this allium to my garden as very cheap bulbs bought last autumn . A year later they are in flower absolutely beautiful! I’ve been cutting them to add to my indoor flowers and even picked as green baby alliums then have over 2 months lasted in my bouquets and are almost fully purple now so still developing in only water. The longest flower I’ve ever cut and had last in a vase! Wish I could add a photo ❤

hey Niall! I managed to buy some cheapish agapanthus ehich all came very pot bound but potted them on to slightly bigger pots and now slowly getting a couple of flowers forming! the crocosmia I have was given to me with a yellow iris so I get the flowering iris and then the orange crocosmia comes up which is currently in flower although a couple of years ago when I had planted it was a brighter red so a bit odd that its changed colour! will have to look for those allium bulbs!

August in the Japanese alps is a great time for flowers. Here on the farm there is a broad expanse of Cosmos, yellow daisies, common sunflowers, and hibiscus. The cosmos grow to about 3 feet high with flowers ranging from light pink to dark maroon while the sunflowers are 5 feet tall with numerous bright yellow flowers. Morning Glories also spread around quite quickly, climbing up the taller flowers if left to their own. These all grow each year without any intervention, require little to no watering, and best of all are fantastic attractions for the bees and butterflies; a very important point as the bees also pollinate the crops in the fields. We farm organically here, a rare thing in Japan, and have no neighbors; so the bees are abundant and at night the lightning bugs fly around near our mountain stream adding a magical view at night that is not so common nowadays.

This damp weather has made planting really easy as the ground is so soft I've been transplanting into the ground from pots every day for the last two weeks - after removing hedges and having a new fence installed - I'm creating a flower border

I can tell you how fuss free crocosmia (sp?) is. They grow in amongst my patio slabs! I’ve been trying to move them bit by bit around the garden, but they will remain in at least one corner of the patio most likely. Last year the heat wave in the U.K had them all die back before the flowering period. However this year, they pretty much all came back.

Thanks Niall you garden looks beautiful. Swiss chard is always wonderful. Well Texas is in the frying month. 102 F now no rain in sight. Pruned back tomatoes maybe they will bloom again. Planted peppers and eggplant. Fingers crossed. See you next week.

Great informative video. I love all of them. What was growing on the urn type container? A type of moss maybe. I couldn’t see it well. I especially loved the first plant with long stems and purple balls. Lol I can’t spell their name and then the grass.?..those two would be great for the back of a border?

The crocosmia is a great plant. I have lucifer and the ‘wild’ orange form. Careful though, they’re wont to spread like the plague. You paid too much for that Agapanthus! It’s best to buy agapantus as bare roots, even though you might have to wait a year to get a flower.

Good morning Niall, hope you're well and chat friends. Loving the jumper,you blended well in your garden 😅. Great advice wanted to know about agapanthus,mines only got 1 flower on this year and wondered if to plant in a bit bigger pot, I've had it 4 years and its bloomed lovely. It's in part sun then shade in late afternoon, should it be in full sun all the time? I over winter it in the greenhouse. We've had lovely weather past few days but that wind is really rocking my big 9ft sunflower!! they're all doing well garden is a real pop of colour now. Very cloudy but suns out,forecast rain. Hey ho.😮 Love Aliums too,1st year of growing the blue one,i have a white one too with bit if green on it,very pretty,,more bulbs to get in September ready for a nice show in the spring, well nearly time for church, thanks for lovely vlog, stay safe happy gardening till next time bye 👋 😊x

Hi Hazel! 👋 The Agapanthus will want full sun and I would actually recommend to not repot it... keep it quite root bound because this will drive it to flower more. I don't know whether you're feeding it also so bear that in mind. It's really windy here too at the min and I'm watching everything getting battered. Have a nice morning at church!

I had that crocosmia in my garden and it was very invasive, so I wouldn't recommend it for a small garden😉

That's interesting to hear Helen and thanks for sharing that. My experience has been that whilst it does clump up, it's never been invasive. I wonder if you had the specific crocosmia that grows wild (i.e. Montbretia?) because it can certainly be pretty rampant!
