Nice Input mine outside in the soil and in planters but I also got the idea from you to put them in water and pebbles. I have several glass containers that are perfect for it. Thank you!

I enjoyed watching your video, and I agree when it comes to choosing grass or gravel I am going with gravel. I just hope that I can find some on sale. Which is not so expensive. You are a great help. Thank you.

Compost? You mean potting soil. But I guess the Brit’s call it compost.

For those in colder climates, hard neck garlic is the only way. I will enjoy watching your Elephant garlic grow there though. 🙂 I'm planting my first garlic this week.

Great that you showed a limbed up mahonia. I have one and I didn't know whether to limb it up or cut it back. Seeing yours, I have decided to leave it to grow and limb it up later. 👍👍

I didn't realise you had to blanch beans I just put them in freezer bags and straight in freezer. Never had a problem. What is the purpose of blanching please?
@niallgardens20 күн бұрын
Hi Vanessa! It's actually just a personal choice rather than a requirement you'll be glad to hear - I do it because it tends to preserve the colour and flavour just that little bit more

Love your videos very informative. Do you have any advice on Rubarb how to look after it in winter time. I also heard you have to split the root when do you need to do this .
@niallgardens20 күн бұрын
Hi Geraldine - you'll only need to split the root if you're looking to divide and multiply it. Otherwise it'll be fine as-is. For winter, rhubarb is really pretty tolerant, so I tend to leave mine alone. However, for a bit of extra protection, you could cover it with a mulch

I always gasp with excitement when I see your new videos come out. Thank you for such excellent content. This month, I am growing the Sir Winston Churchill bulbs you discussed last time and a selection of ground cover in some shady areas - just to make them look more lush. Take care, DA

I need flowers that are dog safe as have a few young puppies and can’t separate them from the flowers…. Is there anything that’s safe? Since I’ve moved into my new property I’ve had to dig up most of the plants as the puppies are interested in the smells etc and nibble on bits, don’t want a sick dog.
@niallgardens19 күн бұрын
It sounds like a cop-out on my part, but that’s something to google when it comes to each plant. However, as far as I’m aware, if you go to the RHS website, their plant finder includes details of toxicity and animal safety so that should help you
